What people are forgetting is that Caroline candidate is not contesting an election. Palin is a joke. Vice President? Are you kidding me? Palin is only quality to be a moose hunter. She is a sure shot, you gotta give her that. I hope the REPUGNANT Party select her as their Presidential candidate in 2012, 2016, 2020, 2024, and you get the picture. She is a complete joke.

It’s kind of funny, Jack, considering we have a president elect that considers ‘the Bill of Rights’ negative, who didn’t know about the signal event in his state’s history, “the bomb that dropped on Pearl Harbor” Now we have a CIA director designate with no intelligence experience. We have a nominee for Interior who is opposed to further shale exploration. Now question, do you heat your house with oil or gas, you likely use Alaska’s products. Alaska belonged to Russia, a great deal we got it for, you want to give it back to Putin. The irony is that the Russians have more respect for her, than you ’supposedly sophisticated Americans’ who take their cue from Tina Fey and Katie Couric, they tagged her the Okhonitsa, the Huntress, and that’s not an accident; If she’s so insignificant, don’t worry about her, but she’s not is she.

Sarah Palin is not too bright. She clearly demonstrated that. No amount of spin or future education will change the image we have of her. You can’t put the cat back in the bag. She will forever be known as know nothing white trash. Hell, any idiot can govern Alaska. BTW, we should sell it to Canada and forgetaboutit.

Yes, I think the governor of Florida knows quite a bit more about Cuba than the rest of us, just as the governor of Alaska knows quite a bit more about both Russia and Canada than the rest of us. (And I have this queer notion that the governor of Maine pays quite a lot of attention to the goings-on in New Brunswick, more than you or I do!)

Ah, John, you’re right of course, the lies that have been told about this woman, because
unlike anyone else on either ticket she has ’spoken truth to power’ Against her own party, against the Democrats, on Ayers, on energy, on the fight in the Middle East, against Russian absorbing of the former republics in the Caucasus, on guns, on ethically based life issues, that’s why they have tried to put her down. It’s odd that the ‘Mean Girl’s stereotype is fixed on her, by all rights, that’s really Tina Fey’s department. Did she ever raise her voice in anger, really whine about the treatment her and her family received; the lies still cached on Youtube and Google. I am understandably bitter about the rotten nature of this previous campaign, I find she was probably the only decent and redeeming thing about it

You never made anything close to an argument; just sneers based on edited transcripts and Tina Fey’s unquestioning mouthing of same. Proposing Huckabee, a fellow who makes Bill Clinton’s stewardship of the state, look good, now that’s funny.
Come to think of it, what was the sterling record of reform, that made people think Clinton could even consider running for President, I know it must have been there somewhere.Odd when Howard “Screaming” Dean, was on the warpath; the man who changed churches over a dispute about a bike path, that the media gave him the time of day, until he self destructed; and continued to do so after he was promoted to DNC chair, he made the previous jackass Terry McAuliffe, one of the parties to the Global Crossing fiasco look good. So you looked up Wikipedia
and you found out the point of the
subduction zones, you left out the Bering bridge, that connected it to Asia, through Russia; the long history of Russian cultural influence, Wassila, Sitka, are clearly not typically American place names. Consequently they are a little more aware when the Russian bear is stirring. She could have brought up the part of the Ketchikan EWS in the ballistic missile defense network, but that would have presumed that Katie Couric
would know about this. Nice try David, Davie, related to Cedarford, tell him hello, get an argument.

Scoff if you like, but remember that Sarah Palin is the most naturally gifted politician since Bill Clinton, or maybe since Reagan. Yes, she’s green, but she is exceptionally good at politics at the retail level, with talent that cannot be taught or practiced. With six years of gubernatorial experience in 2012, she may be seen in a very different light, especially if the economy really goes in the crapper and the Democrats come to be seen as part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

Also, remember that people tend to return to traditional values and old-time religion in times of hardship and turmoil. She is obviously well positioned to benefit.

Finally, keep in mind that in future she will not be boxed in by McCain’s platform and history, and that her own record is much more moderate and libertarian than the media portrayal. She has never banned a book. She has never proposed outlawing the teaching of evolution; in fact, she has not advocated teaching creationism, except to allow discussion of the topic if students request it. She has never actively pushed for punitive anti-gay policies, but rather is one of the few politicians who can claim to have vetoed an anti-gay law on constitutional grounds. She has done nothing to move the abortion debate in Alaska. She has strong opinions on all these topics that are shared by large numbers of Republicans and Democrats, but she really does seem to prefer to lead by example and persuasion.

It will take time to correct people’s impressions, but she has time. Her biggest job is to appeal to women, too many of whom have had high-school flashbacks and see her as the mean head cheerleader. If a mere 6% of the women who voted against her had voted the other way, she’d be getting ready for her inauguration right now. I do not think that this is an impossible task at all, if she spends enough time on the girl-talk TV programs speaking to the women of America as one mom to another.

I think the least of her worries is the educational factor. Book learning is maybe 10% of what you need to be an effective president. Results matter far more. I skipped around from one college to another myself, even dropping out for a while, but eventually got my stuff together and made it into an Ivy League medical school. I can beat Sarah Palin’s SAT score by a mile, I bet, but I am in awe of her political genius, fearlessness, and demonstrated record of effective bipartisan governance. I would sleep soundly if she were Commander in Chief, and plan to work hard and donate heavily to make it so.

I’ve been making this point as well, but it seems there is a segment of Palin fans that is deluded about her to the point that they can see no evil. It is fun to watch, but I don’t see how they can keep up the fantasy for 4 years. Then again, some of them may still believe in Santa as well, so who knows?
