<description>Since it was the NSW Labor Government that perpetrated this mythical atrocity, it would be more appropriate for the Labor Party to issue an apology.

Likewise the recent proposal for an apology for the US Senate might be more appropriately made by the Democratic Party.

CONSIDER:
&quot;Every one who shoots down Negroes in the streets, burns Negro school-houses and meeting-houses, and murders women and children by the light of their own flaming dwellings, calls himself a Democrat. &quot;Every New York rioter in 1863 who burned up little children in colored asylums, who robbed, ravished, and murdered indiscriminately in the midst of a blazing city for three days and nights, calls himself a Democrat.&quot; Gov. Oliver Morton of Indiana, 1866

And, of course, every Union soldier shot, bayoneted, or cannonaded was shot, bayoneted or cannonaded by a Democrat.

Every Jim Crow Law passed in the US was passed by a Democratic state legislature.

In 1865, 63 percent of the Democrats’ senators and 78 percent of House members voted against the 13th Amendment.

In 1866, Every congressional Democrat voted against the 14th Amendment.

January 26, 1922: The U.S. House adopted Rep. Leonidas Dyer&#039;s (R., Mo.) bill making lynching a federal crime. Filibustering Senate Democrats killed the measure.
