Buried in a story [1] about baby-boomer profs retiring:
In general, information on professors’ political and ideological leanings tends to be scarce.
Clearly, more research needs to be done: the Ford Foundation should fund a multi-year study to ascertain the “political and ideological leanings” of professors. That’s one of life’s great mysteries.
Update: Of it’s not that great a mystery. A reader points me to a story [2]from The Washington Post which begins: “College faculties, long assumed to be a liberal bastion, lean further to the left than even the most conspiratorial conservatives might have imagined, a new study says.” Who knew?
