Off topic, except in that it relates to a question of style: Michael Moore is happy about Hurricane Gustav hitting New Orleans.

Isn't it kind of bizarre that Stanley Kurtz comes up with evidence that Obama actually has had about two years of experience, managing the financial administration of the $50 million Chicago Annenberg Challenge, thus adding a new dimension to his record, and Obama's camp hollers "No way. That's lie." and tries to get a government agency to shut Kurtz down. Trying to restrict fredom of speeech used to be considered an assault on one of our most basic freedoms. Not to socialists like Obama and his Chicago machine supporters.

From the outset this gang has displayed incredibly bad judgment.
How could supposedly smart political strategists launch a campaign for the Presidency without KNOWING, from day one, that their candidate's past was in the public record, and that Uncle Jerry, Biuddy Bill Ayers, and the Annenberg Challenge disaster were all certain to be dug up. And then, after the success of the primaries, parade him over the middle east and Europe as a shoo-in!

Gore. Kerry. Obama. What a parlay. The Dems are sure impressing the voters on how good they are at picking losers.

Another comment on style differences:

In the books about his life, Obama dwells on his difficulties adjusting to this or that social situation. I guess he hasn't known how bad things can get. He never tried to have a civil conversation with North Vietnamese prison camp guards.

McCain spent 5 ½ years as prisoner of the North Vietnamese. But he hasn't whined about how difficult that was.

Another thought: If McCain died, Palin can always enlist a foreign policy "expert" to lend her gravitas. Not worse than the One is doing now, yes?

Palin, an untested novice, has no foreign policy experiences, and not much executive experiences was thrusted by an irresponsible 72-year-old to a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Obama, an untested novice, has no foreign policy experiences, and no executive experiences was thrusted by an irresponsible corrupted MSM and the Democrats to be the heartbeat of the presidency.

Note: Recent deaths: Tim Russert, Tony Snow, both in their 50's. McCain's mother, 95 years old, is still commenting and supporting her boy. The heartbeat depends on whose heart is beating, no?

John McCain is a hypocrite. He made all this fuss over Obama passing over the runner-up in his primary campaign, who by all accounts was the most qualified for the veep slot. And then he goes and does the same thing!!! I'm a Democrat, but I actually feel sorry for Mitt Romney (I never thought I would say that). He went to Denver, appeared on numerous shows, stumped for McCain all over the country, a man he didn't even like all that much. You could tell he wanted it real bad. And he was by far the most qualified: successful businessman and governor, savior of the Salt Lake Olympics, and conservative talk radio's favorite choice. Now he's back in Boston, seething. He knows now he was used as a decoy, and the rest of us know it now too. For all of McCain's talk of putting country first, when it came to his first major decision he put his party first, in a shameless pander, not his country. McCain's decision to put an untested novice a 72-year-old's heartbeat away—all while he was lambasting his opponent for not being ready—is hypocritical, and reckless. And a lot of people are saying so. (It's also laughable that he would pick someone who is as we speak under state investigation. The details are even now coming out.)

The Democratic hoopla strikes me as a modern-dress saturnalia; the teleprompter-dependent candidate without any real experience or qualifications for the office he seeks mimics its trappings with mock Presidential seals and august but fake Doric columns; the party with no real new ideas, only recast liberal pieties, pretends it stands for change and innovation and when pressed assume the querulous tone of the impotent and aggrieved. Like Borges mythical founders of Buenos Aires, they fail to notice they've only built up one side of the street, and across from the party there's only unruly weeds and vacant lots.
