Scott, in what sense can the intentional destruction of a human life be called a "right"? Even if you engage in linguistic legerdemain to redefine "human" and "life," abortion, like marriage, is hardly a right in any conventional sense of the term.

I am a loyal New Criterion reader and subscriber, but that may be subject to change depending on the number of underhanded attacks on pro-choicers I have to sit through.

I urge the estimable Mr. Kimball to realize that there indeed many pro-American, pro-capitalism, and yet pro-choice readers out there, and that their views, if criticized, should be done so in a direct and logical manner. There is a good case for protecting the right to have an abortion, consistent with the idea of individual rights and liberty. Most notably, the case presented by American philosopher Ayn Rand deserves attention.

The problem with the "Statement of Intent" affidavit is that it's too small to be used as an election lawn sign, and that it's formatted wrong (portrait instead of landscape) to make it into a giant billboard.

Also, a lot of folks around this campus would sign it at face value.

I think your statement includes too many big words and long sentences for it to be of practical use. Only a first draft, perhaps? :)

-----> READ ALL ABOUT IT <-----

ST. PAUL, Minn. –"John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin said Monday that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant, an announcement campaign aides said was aimed at rebutting Internet rumors that Palin's youngest son, born in April, was actually her daughter's."

Oh Dear…..what have we here?

Friedrich Nietzsche really got it just right, didn't he?

These delicious phrases from "Beyond Good and Evil" seem to me to be apposite to the scandalous news item above:

He said that "equal rights, education, ambitions and obligations are typical signs of "shallowness".

He categorized the nature of women as
"their genuine, predator-like, cunning suppleness, their tiger's claw beneath the glove, their naïve egoism, .....the mystery, breadth and range of their desires and virtues.....and so on.
[ F.N. said it, not me ]

He said that women's emancipation leads to the 'uglification of Europe' (or America, I guess)

And it IS going to get ugly.

Oh boy, here we go.
