Previous Presidents have rightfully believed they are "renters" residing at the WH and it is their duty to care for it (and the country) as best they can. Obambi, on the the other hand, seems to believe that he owns the WH and to hell with the rest of you. That would explain his $100.00 per pound steak dinners, his flown in from St. Louis (I think) pizza chef, his weird little dog that no one has ever heard of, his super duper play set for the kids, Michelle's $500 + sneakers and all the other trappings of power he so much enjoys. This guy seems to relish Marine One and AF One as his own personal craft to get around town with his posse and crew of acolytes. I have to wonder how a lib manages to look at someone square in the eye when discussing Obambi.

RE # 9/POM [...] It’s not the word “mercenary” in that statement that’s the problem, it’s the word “honesty”. [...] However, deregulated Capitalism creates an environment in which [...]

POM, it's the word, or rather notion of "deregulated" from your tirade that causes problems.
Because the "regulated" capitalism, that is any type of socialist or communist societies ever present in the world, from fleeting falansters to the Soviet Union to... say, Zimbabwe, fails, their citizenry suffering terribly.

Don't talk about French eatatism, about the "Scandinavian experience", and other versions of these, generally European countries, because they, while "capitalist", are states on the verge of economical collapse - to them all applies what Margret Thatcher said "the problem with spending other people's money is that you will pretty soon finish it" (and after this, you introduce the Zimbabwe solution, i.e. printing money, notion Obama is very comfortable with).

Then, while occassional Bernie Madoffs appear in de-regulated capitalist countries, the same Madoffs are constant presences in in these "regulated capitalist" countries - as far as the Bernie Madoffs of the socialist/communist countries, that's an oxymoron, because both socialism and communism are simply swindles, or vast Ponzi schemes where a national security/justice/one-party apparatus defends the scamsters who moved in the mansion.

Yes, with Obama enforcers like you POM, we sure can rapidly become a larger equivalent of any communist Eastern European country - where base sycophants like you POM, will find a nice niche as court praisers, day-in-day-out lauding the Genius From Hawaii, The One, The Most Beloved Son Of America, The Living Embodiment Of Most Exhalted Wisdom, The Mighty Benevolent One, etc. - comrade Barry Soetoro.

Ugly job you have POM, to inflict y/self here and there on the Internet, then try to camouflage the truth that during these days we simply see ourselves engulfed by a creeping, enslaving socialist/ internationalist coup, engineered by a collection of irresponsible adventures. And it looks that you enjoy it, also -

9. Pastor of Muppets:

“Let your mercenary tendencies be combined with honesty”, is the Trollope quote.

It’s not the word “mercenary” in that statement that’s the problem, it’s the word “honesty”.

The success of Capitalism relies upon an educated class of consumer who has access to the knowledge necessary to make good business decisions.

However, deregulated Capitalism creates an environment in which the Joe Cassanos and Bernie Madoffs of the world profit from an environment in which vital business knowledge is purposefully withheld from consumers, thereby robbing consumers of the ability to be educated consumers. The system then inherently devolves into a banquet for the most dishonest among us, and implicitly nurtures dishonesty in the rest of us by illustrating that it is the Joe Cassanos and Bernie Madoffs who become the gold standard for success.

As a rational, ethical human being, is it not justified to critique, and when possible, reform, a system that rewards dishonesty? Or ought we to simply accept that the business owner or entrepreneur has the right to be dishonest, and that therefore the consumer ought to accept that he will always be at a disadvantage in business transactions and should be perpetually cynical?

Is this what we want? A system that breeds distrust and enmity between our producers and consumers? How long can such a system be sustained?

"My God - can’t people right a coherent, grammatical and lucid sentence, let alone paragraph, anymore?"

Hmm. You blew your whole rant with that first sentence, unless you plan on teaching people how to 'right' sentences and paragraphs rather than 'write' them.

My God - can't people right a coherent, grammatical and lucid sentence, let alone paragraph, anymore?

If writing is a reflection of thinking and if thinking often leads to action, then Inkosi Obama has nothing to worry about 4 years hence when he's up for re-election.

The main reason Inkosi Obama is where he is now is because the "voting public" were dazzled by his command of English, superficial though it may come across to some.

If his opposition can't present something other than a stuttering, smirking analphabet in 2012 (why does that sound so far from today?), he's going to win again.

Kierkegaard said he left the discovery of the enigmatic meaning of his works to the reader because "the task must be made difficult, for only the difficult inspires the noble-hearted."

But he didn't mean difficult like in "incoherent" or "rambling".

Phew. Unbelievable.

Interesting blog and post, but it’s missing an important part of the equation: Generation Jones, born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and Generation X. Google Generation Jones, and you’ll see it’s gotten a ton of media attention, and many top commentators from many top publications and networks (Washington Post, Time magazine, NBC, Newsweek, ABC, etc.) now specifically use this term.

It is important to distinguish between the post-WWII demographic boom in births vs. the cultural generations born during that era. Generations are a function of the common formative experiences of its members, not the fertility rates of its parents. Many experts now believe it breaks down this way:

DEMOGRAPHIC boom in babies: 1946-1964
Baby Boom GENERATION: 1942-1953
Generation Jones: 1954-1965
Generation X: 1966-1978

Here is a recent op-ed about GenJones as the new generation of leadership in USA TODAY:

"" Only a couple of times in our nation’s history have fundamental differences divided us. The result then was not pleasant. There is no reason to believe it will be any more pleasant this time around. ""

This time around it will be called The Second American War of Independence. The outcome will be the restoration of our beloved fraternal republic. Which outcome will be as pleasant in the medium and long term as has, for more than two hundred years -- and but for the period during which the feral gummint attacked and defeated the Confederate States -- has been the outcome of the first.

Puppet - "Is this what we want? A system that breeds distrust and enmity between our producers and consumers? How long can such a system be sustained?"

No a system that breeds hate between producers and the government that robs them of their earnings to give to the lazy and well-connected. That's much better. We'll see how long that system can be sustained before civil war ensues.

The Meaning of Obama. Just what the heck does he ever mean?
At the last press conference when he talked about his 1st hundred days he went on to talk about the next 100 days being done in 72 days and on the 73rd day he would rest! Rest? From all the friggen devastation? Must be exhausting work...did anyone catch that? I remember somewhere in the ooops.. let me get my gloves on..the Qoran saying something about 72 virgins..I'm just sayin'
A friend of mine has a great article about Right Wing Extremists here:
The American government is officially
out of control, and has murdered the Constitution! We the
People have aided in this killing, and it didn’t start
with Faux-bama at the helm. Let’s start with this little
tidbit of information, the uncla*sified (meaning: not kept private)
National Security Letter.
What is that you ask?
