I’ll buy you a diamond ring my friend

If it makes you feel all right
I’ll get you anything my friend
If it makes you feel all right
‘Cause I don’t care too much for money
For money can’t buy me love.

Yes, Roger, shame on Cleland. He doesn’t have the decency to know when his conscience is being bought. Get serious.

I think Kerry should apologize for making an amputee go out into the hot sun to confront Bush. What kind of hero makes an amputee do his dirty work?

There is a big difference between Calley and Kerry. Calley is a proven war criminal. For Kerry we only have his word as an officer and a gentleman.

Hollywood, get a sense of humor.

This hollywood person fascinates me. I log on here once a day and all I see is his/her posts like a litterbug. I wonder if he/she has hit the tip button on this blog, considering all the bandwidth used.

Bush sure is an odd duck. In the war on terror, he knows his friends and he knows his enemies and he knows the fence sitters. But, he has yet to figure that Clinton had declered war against all republicans in 1992 and that war rages on. Wake up Dubya. The democrats mean you harm. Maybe not the Texas democrats, but the beltway democrats would rather you die painfully. Max F_ing Cleland indeed.

Hollywood: you are absolutely correct–Cleland doesnt have the conscience to know he is being used–not by the administration, but by Kerry. Cleland’s actions offend me as a vet.

I don’t know what I am more disgusted by the mercenary actions of Cleland or the fact that such a job exists.

Leftists sneer at the suggestion (but then again they sneer at anything resembling good faith these days), but the whole “uniter not devider” thing was never a joke when Bush was the governor of Texas. He owes much of the success in his political career to a deeply rooted and highly valued sense of fairness and magnanimity. If you remember (I know, it’s hard), it really wasn’t until the Iraq invasion that the haters had a leg to stand on in attacking Bush, at least in public.

A person of honor would sever one’s business and social ties with a person before making a public spectacle of one’s hate of that person.

Therefore (and obviously) Cleland is not a person of honor.

Neither is Kerry for so cynically using him (as Camp Kerry used a twelve year old girl to mock Cheney during the convention).

Too many of my generation lost all sense and comprehension of duty, honor or shame during the 60’s.

I thouht that the definition of an honest politician was one who, once bought, stays bought. I guess Cleland isn’t even an honest politician

Of course, he could be part of a vast right wing consipracy, aimed at making Kerry look foolish. Or maybe that’s Kerry – it’s so hard to tell anymore.

Aug 25, 2004 - 8:15 pm 13. M. Simon:

Now this is way out in conspiracy land but do you suppose:

The Ds attacked Dole to get a response from a Republican cripple.

Dole responds.

The triple amputee (vs whithered arm) trumps the exchange.

I mean who would think like that?
