1. so it begins:

Oh great, now we’re going to here Juan (Williams - but I guess now he’s a one name phenom, i.e., Cher, Madonna, etc.) say something incredibly racist like, “Where did all these black people come from?” Direct quote from Fox News Sunday, refering to the 2000 RNC.

Acutally, I saw the second picture and immediately thought about the shamefully underappreciated mockumentary Fear of a Black Hat, and its defiant cry of “We have hats now!”

Which, if you saw the movie, then think about how Republican African-Americans are treated by “progressives,” is a perfectly apt phrase here.

Since they’ve already had one or two token Democrats there, how about Joe Lieberman? He’s been known to wear a hat on occasion … in fact, on EVERY occasion …

Now, what did I tell you?

Consider the gentleman from Georgia, and think of the process involved. He went, probably with his SO, to a place where hats like that were available. Picture him among the stacks and carrels, bulky, erect, and deliberate, considering this one and that: sequins or no sequins, with or without slogan hatband, judging the relative merits of paper or styrofoam. Finally making his choice… he paid money for that hat, then took it away. Before he came to the hall he looked at it, considered it — and put it on his head.

Look at his expression. This is a man so centered he could teach Zen. How cool is that? :-)

Regards,

Ric Locke
