and Shanah Tovah to you too, Roger.

Rather gave an interview to the Observer, and said

“The longer we go without a denial of such thingsóthis story is true.”

Oh Dan, what has the world come to?

If Ashcroft said this … Oh what a hue and cry.

Itís after 5PM EST. I find CBSí procrastination most interesting. Ivan is about to severely threaten a large area of the United States. Most people are far more interested in this story than Rathergate. What perfect cover. One might suspect that the crap is truly going to hit the fan.

Sep 15, 2004 - 2:26 pm 5. Katherine:

Happy New Year Roger!

Thank you for a wonderful space to rant and debate, either in pajamas or formal evening attire (or some other garb that I am not going to mention).

And thank you for kind invitation to celebrate Jewish New Year. May it bring hope for real peace. In that spirit I am putting a bottle of CA bubbly on ice.

Happy New Year Roger!

Sep 15, 2004 - 2:30 pm 7. Rick Ballard:

Best wishes for a smashing success for “Moses Finds Bush” in the coming year!

PS I’d ask for another 20K advance for an additional chapter covering Rathergate.

Sep 15, 2004 - 2:33 pm 8. RogerA:

The very best for the coming year–look forward to the publication of your book!

Healthy and fruitful Shanah Tovah.

You rock….

Sep 15, 2004 - 3:04 pm 10. David Thomson:

“With respect: answer the questions,” said Dan Rather, the CBS News anchor. He was asking a direct question to President George W. Bush, his re-election campaign and his political allies in the press and on the Web. “Weíve heard what you have to say about the documents and what youíve said and what your surrogates have said, but for the moment, answer the questions.î

Huh? The very question presupposes that President Bush has been hiding something. He is supposedly guilty and should admit it immediately. Dan Rather doesnít seem to even begin to consider the possibility that the president never did anything wrong.

Rather and his ilk have it totally backwards. One is obligated to find evidence of guilt. The President need not find people who remember his whereabouts some thirty five years ago. This could be virtually impossible since the younger Bush was merely another airman. Does Rather have evidence that the president didnít fulfill his obligations. If not, itís time to shut up.

Sep 15, 2004 - 3:12 pm 11. Terry:

Yeah, what he said!

The article linked above is a very interesting look into the mind of an egomaniac.

Sep 15, 2004 - 3:21 pm 12. Kevin P:

Dan Rather:

We have documents that show you are a child molester. They may be phoney but you need to answer the question and you need to show that you are not a child molester. The longer you wait the more the chances are that you are a child molester. Textbook example of Ratherlogic.

Sep 15, 2004 - 3:35 pm 13. Samuel:

Happy New Year! It will not be a Happy New Year for Dan Rather because he’s Goyim, not that it matters as a bad day is a bad day. Someone please pass Dan some Excederin.

Sep 15, 2004 - 4:06 pm 14. JBR:

Roger: L’shanah tovah, and thank you for running a great web site. You are a mensch.

Sep 15, 2004 - 5:42 pm 15. Pearl:

Thank you for sharing your holiday and

L’Shanah Tovah to you and your family.

Sep 15, 2004 - 11:21 pm 16. Annalucia:

Happy New Year, Roger, and thank you for providing this forum for your readers. And especially, thank you for the *civil tone* which is maintained here despite the many disagreements among your readers – that alone makes your site a treasure.

Sep 16, 2004 - 7:46 am 17. Silicon valley Jim:

There’s Chinese New Year, too, usually in January, if memory serves. I celebrate them all.
