		<description>Roger:

When I first reached the legal drinking age I learned a valuable lesson. After a sring of Dewars and a few pathetic games of pool I was given a challenge. A pair of older and wiser pool sharks set up a trick shot and bet me $50 dollars that they could make it. I will spare you the details but i looked at it, saw that it was impossible, and I swallowed the bait. Of course it was possible if his partner bumbed the table slightly. I swallowed my pride, forked over the money, and i have not bet on my limited pool abilities since that day.

Albright was snookered. She is not the first Foereign Policy expert to be had. But her ego is so large that she can not accept the fact that her brilliant plan failed. So she wants Bush to repeat her mistake and she tells Kerry to try the same failed policy with Iran. Peacefull Negotiations are only effective when you have a willing and honest partner. The Dear Leader and the Mullahs simply don&#039;t qualify.

Another sad fact is that the MSM still calls on this failure to dispense wisdom on Korea and Iran.It would be like a movie critic calling on the producer of Ishtar who wouldn&#039;t admit it was an abject failure and who is trying to repeat the same method to create a similar film.

Mr. Simon,

Thanks for the link. Having come to know your readers through their comments I know where most of them stand on North Korea. I have also noticed that Kerry is searching for an issue and he has run this one up the flag a few times in recent days. It is an easy issue to spin because not enough people are aware of what is really happening in North Korea (or this whole region for that matter), nor do they understand how truly evil, not to mention ill-advised, the &quot;umbrellas and sunshine&quot; policy of Clinton and Dae Jung was. I grew up being told &quot;Never forget!&quot; Well, we all forgot. But I and my neighbors here are thrilled so many people over there won&#039;t let the Kerry-Albright spin stand.

Again, thanks Mr. Simon.

<description>As I&#039;ve been following this story, I&#039;m wondering if all those years of MAD with the USSR have numbed Americans to the real horror of nuclear war. I&#039;m old enough to remember duck &amp; cover drills and all the rest of the &#039;50s fear. I also remember that it pretty much lapsed as the years dragged on. The only resurgence was when the short range nukes in Europe became an issue for Reagan, but, that wasn&#039;t fear, just LLL politics as usual.

So.......

a) Is NK and Iran with nukes more dangerous than India, Pakistan, Israel, Russia, China, etc.? (I vote yes)

b) How should Americans ( and Europeans ) be persuaded of that?

		<description>Roger:

We are all having fun with the Rathergate story and much of what the swifties are bringing up about Sen. Kerry is rightous the subject of the blog you linked is the single most important issue this election holds for us and it is getting scant or skewed attention.

When Imus mumbled that bringing the Albright-Berger style of diplomacy back to power he couldn&#039;t have been more spot on. The fact that Kerry-Edwards want to repeat the Albright mistake on North Korea and to duplicate it with Iran and the Mullah bomb should frighten anyone with a brain.

You can argue, weakly IMHO, that the Albright method was worth a try in North Korea. But after the Dear Leader took our billions, moved his atomic program underground and is fighting any attempt to stop it it is fooly to think that giving him more money will change his mind. When you reward nuclear blackmail with billions you only encourage him to keep doing it. When the North Korean dictatorship eventually crumbles I think it will reveal one of the most horrific attrocities in History and anyone who has pictures of themselves grinning and clinking champagne flutes with this madman will be shamed for eternity.

The Kerry- Albright team are so dense they wan&#039;t to repeat the same failed method with Iran. the vaunted european out reach to the Mullahs has just been slapped down recently. The Mullahs have just given the finger to the Europeans and have stated that they will continue their &quot;peacefull&quot; atomic program. even the europeans know this to be a lie. Why? Because they never had any intention to halt their drive to get the Islamic Bomb. they have stated it publically numerous times and they will get it unless the US or Israel blows it up.

The Kerry- Albright team is married to the idea of negotiations even when they are dealing with governments that humiliate them with their dishonest intentions. If Kerry is elected he has already cooked up a scheme that will give Iran the nuclear energy and the only thing he will get in return is the Mullahs and the Dear Leaders promise to be good boys. The comparison to Chamberlin is so perfect. Their ostrich like refusal to face reality would be funny if it wasn&#039;t so tragic.
