Drudge is reporting that 60 minutes will not air a segment on the rationale for the war in Iraq. They are claiming it is now too close to election to run the story. It is supposed to focus on WMD. Anybody want to bet that the real reason that the story has been killed is that it was another partisan hatchet job done in typical 60 minutues fashion? I also bet that Joe “I am a liar” Wilson plays a prominent role in the story.
I think that Kerry and McCauliffe asked Rather to hold the story for another week or so. It seems that they’ve discovered some clay tablets that conclusively prove that Hussein never had WMD and that had W simply hired an expert in Sumerian it would have been clear to all what a peace lover Saddam actually was. Joe Wilson found the tablets while he was working in Baghdad through his wifes contacts at the national museum. Robert Fisk is going to authenticate everything during a press conference on the flight deck of the Abraham Lincoln.
Now, now, now… let us not be cynics. As they never tire of reminding us, the media leaves their bias at the door. I’m sure this will be the fairest investigation since the Moscow show trials.
Rick Ballard ó And then Margo Kingston will blame it on the Jews for her Australian readership…
Ambisinistral ó Those were no show trials. They gave Walter Duranty the Pulitzer for proving that. It’s still on the wall at the NY Times. All right-thinking people know that.
Is just me or is Typekey being particularly twitchy today?

Too many people are hesitant in calling for a government investigation into the CBS scandal. They are likely concerned about the First Amendment implications. Itís time for a reality check: somebody created a number of phony military documents. This is a felony—and thatís why an internal investigation is downright crazy. Only investigators able to issue subpoenas can have any realistic chance of finding out what really happened. The threat of jail time is minimally required.
By the way, does anyone doubt that the liberal media would be demanding a government investigation if a Fox News had
premised a news story upon fraudulent documents which could have destroyed a Democratic presidential candidate? Is Paris Hilton a celibate nun?
Roger your question: An ‘internal investigation’ is what you cover-up a cover-up with. Oops, preposition. That reminds me, someone asked me where Main Street was at, and I said, wait, you “…can’t end a sentence with a preposition!” So guy sez, “Okay, then, where’s it at, Jerk?”
They have another thing in common, they both have power without responsiblity, not a healthy thing in a democratic society.I propose that it be compulsory for both organisation to have elected lay boards.

Quite often, thereís not one bit of difference. This is particularly true of both the UN and CBS scandals.
