A Promotional Stunt for Bloggers?

How else to explain CNN choosing Jonathan Klein–the clod who came up with the bizarre notion that bloggers were wrong about Dan Rather’s lies because we wrote in our “pajamas”–as the new president of its US News Group?

Thanks for the publicity, CNN. You may not always be militantly pro-democracy, but you are, inadvertently at least, pro-blogger. (via Power Line)

Print legacy media likt the NYT are minnows. Time for bloggers to go after the big fish: the broadcast networks and CNN.

Add streaming blogvideo and blogaudio to the insurgency, er, business, plan.

thibaud,

Ummm… we’re talking about people in their pajamas bub. You want video of Roger in his jammies? I’ll only buy the blogvideo concept if it is hot looking babes doing it. ;-)

Klein was the former executive director of CBS News, with oversight of its flagship “60 Minutes” program

and may Klein accomplish for CNN what he has done to, I mean, for CBS.

I like your idea, Thibaud. All we need is a Victor’s Secret to dress our men bloggers in lovely loungewear.

Strictly as a business situation, this strikes me as analogous to a (hypothetical) decision by IBM (circa 1982) to hire as its new CEO an individual who had gone on record as mocking personal computing.
