On the Road Again

Sheryl, Madeleine and I will be headed to New York tonight for the Thanksgiving holiday on the dreaded “red eye.” Travel conditions are not promising, but a porterhouse on Friday night at Smith & Wollensky is (I’m not a turkey person). Sheryl and I will also be checking out (Saturday night) Michael Frayn’s “Democracy,” which is supposedly the ne plus ultra of this theatrical season. Intermittent blogging (chance of showers) will occur, since our hotel has excellent WiFi.

And now I wish I hadn’t thrown out all my old loafers. They’re the perfect thing for traveling nowadays – easy on, easy off at the security check. To all the other voyagers out there, have a safe trip.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone.

BTW, anyone been following Econopundit lately?

Things are getting interesting in the $ market.

Happy trip. Having just did a 3 day turn around trip (13 hour flight on Wednesday, 10 hours return flight on Saturday), I can understand your feeling about flying.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip. A great time to be in NYC enjoying the newly installed Christmas decorations. And stop by P.J. Clarke’s and have a Diet Dr. Pepper for me…… :>]

Have a great Thanksgiving with your family, Roger. May it be moonbat free.

Roger,

I wish you and all of the visitors to your site a safe and happy Thanksgiving. This is a good time to stop and reflect on the many blessings we have, including our freedom which has come at a high price.

On a lighter note, Roger, may I recommend Del Frisco’s, Ben Benson’s or even Sparks over Smith & Wollensky? My guess is you know them all. Enjoy. I concur with your steak over turkey sentiment.

Terry Treachout trashed “Democracy” in Friday’s WSJ. Just a warning. Maybe this is another case of NY Times drama hype. It does happen, you know.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family, and all the visitors to this great site, Roger.

Happy Thanksgiving and congratulations on getting a mention in Bridget Johnson’s piece in the WSJ.

You won’t mind if we just hang out here & make a mess of the place while you’re gone… We’ll try not to break anything.

Happy T’day & enjoy your steak. Mmm.

A safe and joyful journey and the happiest of Thanksgivings to you and yours, Roger.

You get a by-name mention, along with the President and about forty or so service members, at our table grace this year. Your forum has been a calming place for me this last year and I look forward to the one to come.

We all have much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving, but I have one quibble. You’re going out to eat a holiday dinner at a steakhouse, and you’ve chosen a chain? With all the great local NY steakhouses – and there are plenty – you are going with S&W?

Peter Luger’s? Delmonicos? Sparks? Old Homestead?

I guess to each their own. :)

I also would like to wish you, Roger, as well as your two ladies and, of course, all the readers of this blog, a great Thanksgiving.

God bless everyone. Steak on Thanksgiving Day? No, our family will eat the ugly looking turkey. Some traditions must be honored. Iím suppose to be part Iroquois so therefore I must return to my roots.
