Once again, the egos of these people in power who just know they can get away with anything. And then to suppose the FBI and the press wouldn’t find out? I hope the White House has learned from this one, in fact I hope all future White Houses will learn. Vet everybody, I’ll bet Mother Theresa was running an abortion mill in Rawanda.

Actually, there have been a lot of questions asked about Mother Theresa’s operations. Here is a an interview with Chris Hitchens that lays out some of the questions.

So Kerik’s other women were shocked to find out about each other. How did they confront him about this? “You told me there were only three of us in this relationship! I though you and me and your wife had something special!”

Better now than before the US Senate at confirmation hearings.

As before, this administration does not do scandal of this sort.

Kerik should have known that all this crap was going to come out. He should have come out with it himself and told Bush ahead of the headlines so the President could have made a decision with all the facts in front of him.

Kobe’s situation seems to be a PR counter attack rather then a real problem. He was catching flak about his comments and needed something to justify losing Malone. I am a lifelong Laker fan and Kobe is a joy to watch but his GM skills are weak. The Lakers are performing better then I thought they would but they need rebounding, interior defense, and some toughness and Malone provided all three. They were not going to win a championship even with Malone but they could have been competitive in the playoffs with him. Kobe’s ego is getting the better of him. This protecting my wife issue seems to be a concocted PR stunt.

Methinks Kobe is cracking under the strain of the last two years and I sincerely doubt that Malone made a pass at Kobe’s wife. If I was Jerry Buss, I’d be trying to get Kobe to talk to a professional. The Lakers are really turning into a soap, which is a shame, as I’m a big fan of past Laker teams, especially the Magic/Worthy/Kareem era.

Yesterday was it with regard to Kobe. I’m a 76ers fan for the duration.

The whole Kerik episode is bizarre. As I’ve said all along, he was a very odd choice for an uber-bureaucratic Beltway position with no real authority, and the fact that this idea was Giuliani’s hobbyhorse suspects some kind of larger scheming on the latter’s part.

Perhaps a wish that Bush/Rove would anoint him as the right wing’s preferred successor to Bush, thereby giving Rudy enough ammo to shoot down McCain early on. But Rudy’s got some ’splainin to do now. Beeg time.

When I first heard about the new “Nannygate” I was thinking that Kerik should have come clean before allowing the President to announce his name publically. Just didn’t make sense.

I agree with JBR that McCain is a publicity hound who’s hoping to get somewhere (big) in the cabinet. The maneuvering around the next presidential primary cycle is already starting and it’s going to be quite a ride!

Irregardless of what I know independently about McCain, I would not vote for him, solely on the basis that he’s the “model republican”, according to the left.

Putting McCain anywhere in the cabinet would be insane- if you think Powell had his public moments disagreeing with the president, imagine what it would be like with the outspoken McCain.
