Fausta, as usual, has been watching the French press, this time about the recent release of their two journalist hostages from Iraq. Apparently, the whole episode has caused confusion and some self-criticism in their political and chattering classes. Fausta concludes:
Interestingly, while there has been videos of the hostages’ families and the public at large celebrating, no video of the released hostages has yet been shown.
BTW, the French are insisting they did not pay a ransom.

Notice that their Syrian driver, whom US soldiers found “chained” to a wall and apparently “tortured” by the terrorists, is now suing the US for being tortured.
There have been others who have been “kidnapped” and then “released”. Still others are murdered. What’s the difference between these and ones like Margret Hassan, the aid worker who lived in Iraq for 30 years and was married to an Iraqi?
She was helping ordinary Iraqis while the others were helping the terrorists.
