Will the Dartmouth Mafia Step Up?

Although I am a devoted reader of the Volokh Conspiracy, it took Instapundit to point the way to a post there announcing the candidacy of one of their contributors, Todd Zywicki, for Trustee of Dartmouth College. Weirdly, there is an odd confluence of blogosphere personalities — the three high-powered gentlemen of Power Line, your not-so-humble servant and “famous commenter” and now best-selling author Catherine Johnson — who are alums of the “College on the Hill.” Perhaps we could get something going for Mr. Zwywicki. I’m in.

UPDATE: Undergraduate support here. Is this a harbinger of blogging as a new entry point to univeristy Board of Trustees? [Not if they don't contribute a lot.-ed.]

Count me in too! Class of ‘86, former executive editor of The Dartmouth and now an enthusiastic reader of the new (Rather than old) media.

My signed petition’s already in the mail. I knew Prof. Zywicki at Dartmouth (he was in the class ahead of me and dated a very good friend of mine) and will gladly vote for him.

ps. send a link to his petition to alums you know.

Connect the dots!

The story of the Weird Demographics of rogerlsimon.com continues apace:

1. Jewish neo-cons

2. Scots-Irish belligerents

3. Math geniuses

4. Child prodigies (subset of category #3)

and now——

5. Dartmouth alums??

I can see where Jewish neo-cons and Scots-Irish belligerents go together, but I’m still trying to figure out how math & Dartmouth fit in.
