1. Rick Ballard:Well, Romancing the Stone his way probably didn’t require morphine.

This will probably smell of a very Old World morality here, but Marianne, after the horrible death of her husband, moved to help Jordan to break up his a marriage. Though I can imagine extenuating circumstances, the fact remains.
Will nobody speak for Susan and two children?
Feb 15, 2005 - 4:52 pm 4. Barbara Skolaut:Sooooo – neither Jordan nor Stone has any taste, eh?
Feb 15, 2005 - 4:57 pm 5. Duane:*shudder*

OK, thank God Susan’s out of it. I have got to think that Jordan was on his way out of his marriage anyway, and now he is gone. Better to get it over with than wait through years of fooling around and excuses.
Feb 15, 2005 - 5:20 pm 7. Fausta:It’s getting so that it’s beyond parody by now.
Feb 15, 2005 - 5:35 pm 8. Katherine:ìOK, thank God Susan’s out of it.î
Chuck, I like your take on this sordid affair much betterÖ.
Feb 15, 2005 - 5:53 pm 9. Dishman:Now I understand! He was deliberately tanking his career to get closer to Sharon Stone!
Feb 15, 2005 - 6:02 pm 10. richard mcenroe:This is the same Sharon Stone who threw her last husband to a giant carnivorous lizard, right?
Sounds like a marriage made in heaven.
Feb 15, 2005 - 8:47 pm 11. Katherine:PS. Is 46 ìagingî? I need to remember thatÖ
Feb 15, 2005 - 9:25 pm 12. ms anne:jordan’s only redeeming quality was that marianne pearl liked him. quoth the raven, nevermore. i think susan and marianne are both well out of it, and sharon stone is skanky enough to rendezvous with a louse as long as it keeps the ole PR machine cranking.
Feb 15, 2005 - 9:53 pm 13. Yehudit:I kept reading to the next item about Elizabeth Shue, who says of her recently completed studies:
“”I took a class on globalization, and once we were talking about the exportation of our culture through movies and whether we should control it or whether we should allow it to be free to suffocate other countries,” the actress said.
“And here I was, a member of the problem! I didn’t actually raise my hand and say, ‘By the way…,’ but if I had, I would have said that I was sympathetic to the French having quotas and blockades and not allowing Hollywood films to dominate their industry.”"
Idiotarianism marches on . . . .
Feb 15, 2005 - 10:02 pm 14. Katherine:Öîif I had, I would have said that I was sympathetic to the French having quotas and blockades and not allowing Hollywood films to dominate their industry.”"
By all means, letís the Euros block some Hollywood films. The end result will be that those ìallowedî on Euro market will quadruple their profits. Only somebody subjected to such quota system can understand the yearning for the filmmaking craft of Hollywood.
Feb 15, 2005 - 10:12 pm 15. Percy Dovetonsils:“And here I was, a member of the problem!”
Well, then, I assume that Ms. Shue will be quitting Hollywood and taking an office job. Otherwise, she’s quite the lil’ hypocrite, isn’t she?
Incidentally, I don’t recall any stories about Hollywood goon squads forcing people in other countries into the theatres to watch the latest from Paramount – rather, people willingly line up to see the latest Tom Cruise flick.
Isn’t it frustrating when the lumpen proletariat won’t listen to their intellectual betters?
Feb 16, 2005 - 7:09 am 16. Salt Lick:“Now I understand! He was deliberately tanking his career to get closer to Sharon Stone!”
Ya know, this could very well explain Jordan’s indiscretion. Can’t just see it? The guy plays footsie with Sharon prior to Davos, and then there she is, all beautiful and blonde, out there in the audience. She’s hot, she’s liberal, she hates the war. Little head shoves big head aside. Little head swells, shoves its hands down the front of its tight Levis (just behind the big rodeo buckle), tosses a macho shrug, and says, “The military is deliberately targeting journalists, just murdering them.”
Sharon smiles. Barney’s mouth drops open. Gergen’s eyes bug out. A blogger slips out of the room, hoping for a nearby wi-fi connection…

Hollywood doesn’t need these goon squads because they outsource this task to the Ronald McDonald Brigade to do when they aren’t busy making the French eat Big Macs.
