The Pajama Party Continues

It’s been “non-stop boogie ’til you drop” here at Pajamas Headquarters with over 170 blogs now having signed up for Pajamas Media (not to mention untold milblogs) and literally hundreds more making inquiries, including blogs from Siberia and Shanghai! And they come in all shapes, sizes and subject matter - we even have a speleology blog! [Is is it called "Notes from the Underground"?-ed. Why did I know you'd say that?]

No matter how it is computed, our assembled monthly unique visitors are now well into the millions.

I don’t mean to be a press agent (okay, a blog agent), but don’t, as has been said before, “miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity”! Join our advertising and news aggregation at (where else?) join@pajamasmedia.com.

APROPOS: Some things go up while others go down.

ìThe losses come at a time when Americans have many news outlets that didn’t exist 20 years agoî

This is only half true. There is no doubt that advancing technology has something to do with the decline in newspaper readers. Still, this is about the only industry that consistently launches attacks on many of its most important consumers. I canceled my daily subscription to the Houston Chronicle solely because I do not wish to fund my enemy. This paperís editorial staff and staff reporters are mostly liberal fruitcakes. They despise just about everything I stand for.

Several things might help.

1) Try actual editing and proofreading. The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News could both use this one.

2) Hire reporters who are smart enough to actually check out the statistics they use with someone who knows statistics.

3) Hire reporters who report and editors who editorialize and columnists who column. Know the difference.

4) Quit treating you readers like morons (or lumpenproles).

5) Get some balance in the Letters to the Editor.

6) Cover all the news and not just the part that can be trimmed to fit the editorial mindset.

7) Identify both conservative and liberal individuals and groups if you identify either one (almost always the conservative).

8) Realize you’re not a priesthood with a direct pipeline to Truth. Pull you collective head out of your you-know-what, even if it does smell really, really good in there.

Don’t bother to thank me, I’m just trying to help.

JorgXMcKie -

Good list! Comprehensive, fair, and well-considered. Nice work.

On a more serious note, props to Mudville Gazette for bringing in all the milbloggers.

Ahem!

“…but don’t, as has been said before, “miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity”!”

Say rather, “but has been said before, “don’t miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.”"

But then again, what does that mean one should actually do with an opportunity or a missed opportunity? Miss the opportunity, or miss the missing of the opportunity to miss an opportunity… or.. ah, the hell with it.

Roger,

You might appreciate this comment on our blog.

And yes Instapudit, you might be a little OT on this meme, There’s a war going on, but this is exactly the point. If it wasn’t for the Internet and the Blogos only a very distorted view of the GWOT would be available to the American people and the world. The MSM would have us losing this war for their own self-interested purposes. The consequences of the free world losing this war against Islamofascism are unimaginable.

The Titans of the Blogos vs. The Mainstream Media (MSM)

It’s all over except for the ‘fat lady’ singing.

The Blogos has replaced the MSM as the relevant source of objective news/info of the day. This revolution has been quietly preceding for sometime. As Hugh Hewitt suggests in Blogs, this transformational process is as profound as that of the Reformation. With the advent of moveable type and the printing press, the religious elite could no longer control, interpret, and filter news and information. The people were now free to interpret the religious, political, and scientific thought of the day. Religious and political leaders were suddenly challenged and critiqued by the people.

[...]

The Titans of the Blogos are moving to solidify this new position of power with an economic viable business model. The tipping point has been reached.

Is there someplace that explains in English what exactly this thing is? I’ve seen all of Roger’s posts and I’m still stumped.

May 2, 2005 - 5:50 pm 8. Roger:

I’m having a little trouble myself, Ian… But I would suggest you email join@pajamas.com for a very detailed statement…. Hey, we’re not perfect. This is a medium in discovery of itself. Let’s hope it always will be.

Roger, When will we get graphics to put on our sites and in our emails. Could also use some ground rules if you have them, especially on networking to other blogs…

Need input…

Are you sure, cuz pajamas.com is apparently an apparel site.

Nice write up in the New York Sun this morning.

The idea of Pajamas Media is to use an extensive network of globally affiliated blogs to provide first-person, in-depth coverage of most major news events, including both camera and video footage, Roger Simon said.

I describe myself-politically- as a “paleo-crat”:

I voted for JOHN Kennedy, feared ROBERT Kennedy, and despise TED Kennedy.

Ever so often, I have something worth looking at on my own blog.

Let the Pajama Party continue !!

I am sick and tired of seeing stupid “news” items occupy the headlines, ie: runaway bride, whacko jacko, etc. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

Dear Roger:

I’d like to join your merry band. Is there some way I can contribute to Pajamas Media?

Thanks-

All things start somewhere. It’ll be interesting to observe this site’s growth and development. Better yet, if it’s capable of impacting domestic politics, mainstream media, national conscienceness and so on. While I have more thoughts, they can wait. Anyway, Pavane here, checking in.
