1. David Thomson:ìIn the army, those interviews were conducted by bored high rank officers who were so frustrated and angry that they ended up with this filthy boring duty instead of doing what every Syrian officer dreams to do: To have a Range-Rover and do nothing at all.î
KGB officers eagerly sought to be assigned to the United States. Was this because it would allow them a better opportunity to defeat their supposed arch enemy? Hell no, these individuals wanted to live the good life. The best booze, fast cars, and great food were widely available only in the free world. Who in their right mind wanted to reside in god awful Russia? Very few people were true believing Marxists when the Soviet Union finally collapsed. Cynicism was the norm and the leaders were often no more than petty gangsters. This is almost exactly whatís going on in Syria. I suspect the end is near. Syria should be the next domino next to fall.
