Roger;

I will believe Zarqawi is dead when I see the wailing and moaning in Palestine. It will be interesting what kind of obit CAIR gives this murderer.

I think we can blame the Sufis for this. It's only reasonable to expect other Muslims to be angry over the Sufi Crusades of 854-6. Err wait....

Dr. Sanity: I got fooled [read: prematurely excited] the last time.

I'll need to wait and see it on the (dare I say it?) MSM before I believe it this time.

Would be some little bit of comforting news to the Sufis, and the rest of us.

How can they still be called insurgents when only 10% of the bombers are Iraqi? Since 42% are Saudi's why don't the Iraqis declare was on the Saudis?

I think I heard that there was another attack on Sufis in some other country recently. Now I can not remember which one.

I wish this would end for those poor people. The left can blame Bush, but it is not the soldiers who are doing most of the killing and dying right now.

I think Zaraqwi is thinking that if he can destroy support for the war here in the US it does not matter if the Iraqis hate him or not. Bush's politcal enemies will eventually win and jump ship and he will take over.

I am nost sure that even the Democrats want someone like Zarqawi getting control of that kind of oil wealth. My God, imagine the damage he could do.

If these guys start killing Sufis, [who do no one any harm], they will surely make themselves so many enemies over there that people will turn them in.

I wonder what the violence will be like when the out Saddam on trial. And I heard that over 80% of the Iraqis want to vote for their constitution. I hope they can.

It all worries me very much. I know a friend of mine said her daughter in law hates Bush so much she did a jig the other day when the news showed pictures of dead Iraqis. She thinks this is good news for the Democrats.

People can be so perverse.

The people at Winds of Change post Sufi parables on a pretty regular basis.

And here's a Sufi woman who deserves to be remembered:

Roger:

This action, along with all the similar actions of the past and all future acts, should be forced down the throats of the Michael Moores and Tarig ali's of the left who rationalize the behaviour of these murderous fascists when they call them minute men and nationalist heroes.

Iraqi men and women are the primary targets of the "heroes" these moral relativists lionize. They are not just fighting against occupation. They are fighting to install a minority led fascist regime that will kill all religous or political opponents. These "leaders"are no different then Saddam. They are no different then the Taliban. they may be fighting for a religous dictatorship or a tribal dictatorship but the results will be the same. The stunning thing about Amenesty International is that if, along with their left wing acolytes, are succesfull in helping these dictatorships regain controll they will forget their aid and comfort to these thugs and turn a round and self rightously condemn the actions of these pigs that they are helping. They will claim that they are just fighting for a better world, a non violent world. But they don't recognize that sometimes you have to confront evil with force. The Saddams and the Talibans of the world dream about organizations that refuse to do anything other then issue reports and scold others countries for allowing these regimes to survive. AI will satisfy itself with talking about civil rights but never put down their pen to do anything about it. Sometimes shaming governments works. But if the leader or political regime has no shame it does not work.

"Sufis follow a form of Islamic mysticism that stresses the need for a personal experience of God. Some conservative Muslims consider them emotional or even heretical. "

-no doubt I need to better educate myself on what this means, but if anyone can provide a quick summary of what personal experience of God means in this context I'd be grateful. It seems to be an example of a Christian idea being applied to another religious tradition - the idea that we see the personhood of Christ in the human other, that we must love one another for this reason - personhood being an idea that comes into western thought only with CHristianity,

c

>>Apparently, blowing up people and Sufis because you disagree with them is not emotional or heretical.

Exactly.

It is nothing short of a miracle that "sectarian violence" (read "carefully coordinated terrorism") has not caused (so far) the outbreak of civil war.

It is sickening that the Left does not acknowledge the real suffering of the Iraqi people, or, to the extent that they do, they blame it on our heroic military and the Bush administration.
