I’m amazed that there are people who believe a vote determined by 97%.

Carl Roper, of the polling outfit, once said that if you asked people if they were breathing, 80% would say yes.

The quoted passage says the turnout was 80%; 97% refers to the percentage of yes votes.

I have always thought that it was amazing how under rreported the fighting and killing in places like Algiers really is.

150,000 since 1992, and Bush had nothing to do with it.
