Roger:

The region is not ready for Democracy, look at Iran. Iran is a fake Democracy. It is a oligharchy with a democratic front. The Iranian population voted for a reform government and watched the Mullahs restrict every reform. The "Guardian Council' or whatever it is called has the only real power in the country. It would be as if our Supreme Court was a self selecting group that had legislative veto power, had the ability to eliminate any opposition candidate at a whim, and had their own private militia to enforce their will. To use Iran as an example of Middle East Democracy makes as much sense as saying Saddam's Iraq was a democracy because he had a constitution and elections.

Coisty says, just like it's a proven fact: "Keep in mind that most non-Jewish Middle Easterners have a low IQ level. "

Coisty, on what basis do you make this astonishing statement?

I do enjoy seeing how the Left really feels about those brown people.

Which way do weather patterns move in the ME?

I'd think Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Saudia Arabia and perhaps Turkey would be very much against a nuclear attack on Isreal.

The various 'stans wouldn't be too happy with the fallout from the retailiation.

How much of this is Krushchev (sp?) type shoe pounding?

Coisty, if you want people to think that you're actually pro-Israel, you shouldn't give the game away with phrases like "Trotskyist neocons". Is Coisty a pseudonym for Ahmadinejad, or Buchanan?

ex-democrat - "what is your plan for defending the non-islamic world against islamic totalitarianism in the nuclear age?

(this should be good)"

Well, ex-democrat, there are no easy answers. My view is that we - the West - should stay out of ME affairs as much as possible. Don't worry about Israel it can survive without US subsidies.

To me the most important issue for both the US and Europe is immigration. Do not allow Muslims to live in the West and that alone limits the problem we have with Muslims and their depraved political culture.

What to do about Iran? Jeez! I'm hoping the US and Israel together find some way to destroy Iran's nuclear capabilities. I only intended to point out that democracy in and of itself (brought about through the deaths of thousands of Americans) is no silver bullet. Keep in mind that most non-Jewish Middle Easterners have a low IQ level. In many (most?) cases they are the products of first cousin marriages. They see Israel as a permanent enemy and there is nothing the West can do about that. No logical argument will get through to them. Democracy will not save the West nor will it make Israel secure. Muslims understand one language and that is the language of successful Violence. Unfortunately the last time Westerners (ie the Serbs) gave them a good dose of it the West (led by the idiots Clinton and Blair) intervened to save them.

So Iran, and by extension, the Islamic world, has held a Wannsee Conference of its own. Add to that the de facto alliance between the Left and radical Islam, a sort of new version of the Nazi-Soviet pact, and I wonder if history is beginning to repeat itself. Just like 70 years ago, the reaction of the world will be nil. Where are the howls of the Left’s mighty indignation? If the Left voices any outrage (along with the usual modifier but), it does so because it fears that Ahmadinejad’s genocidal comments might strengthen the Bush Administration’s position on the WoT and OIF, not because of any moral outrage. I wonder (not really though) what the world’s and the Left’s reaction would be if Ariel Sharon had publicly called for Iran’s extermination. Time and time again these megalomaniacal extremists have told us about their goals and ambitions and the world sleeps. And time and time again countless people end up dying because of it. What does the world believe? Does it believe that if Israel one morning was utterly destroyed, its people murdered in their beds without warning without provocation that that would end Islamic extremism? That they would stop with Israel?
