In the Big Apple for the Big Launch

Many PJ types are starting to assemble here at the W Hotel on Lex. In the house already… Ed Driscoll (with his wife PJ attorney Nina Yablok) and Tim Blair… more to come.

I was wondering where Tim had got to!

Some of us local bloggers and friends took Neo-neocon out to dinner tonight. Most of the conversation - predictably - was war stories about our 9-11 conversions and dealing with antiwar and BDS friends and family. Every time I get convivial with a slightly different configuration of people, it turns into a therapy group as new people share their stories and oldtimers share different stories, but it’s very enjoyable!

If there are any get-togethers tomorrow email me, I’d love to join you folks, and I look forward to meeting everyone on Wednesday.

I can’t wait to see who covers this for th New York Times. Maureen Dowd? Frank Rich? Paul Krugman? Jayson Blair?

Is anyone live blogging or video streaming the event?

I’ll be there! Can’t wait! I can’t decide what I am supposed to wear, though! I have a nice jacket, or just shirt and tie? Or just jeans and a t-shirt? Rainbow Room is formal, no? I am confused… any suggestions?

I’m five blocks away from the W right now, but I really have to get home. Oh man, this is painful. I’d love to walk by and see if anybody’s in the lobby, but I can’t justify taking the time (pregnant wife and toddler at home).

I’d probably just get bounced anyway.

Nov 15, 2005 - 2:30 pm 8. Solomon:

See y’all tomorrow.

Hi all,

I just got into town. Here all day Wednesday, flying back to PDX Thursday. I’m surfing from the Cyber Cafe on W 49th Street; staying at the Mayfair next door.

The flight in was good - the ride from LGA was from hell! Glad to be here, though, will try to hook up with youse guys this evening. Please keep posting updates here.

So excited about tomorrow’s event!

Nov 15, 2005 - 3:23 pm 10. Pieter Dorsman:

I’m very much looking forward to seeing/meeting you all tomorrow….and hearing PJM’s new name!!!!

Roger: Great “talmudic scholar” comment and your closing comment was a gem. Don’t drink too much tonite…and allow me the honor of a L’Chaim with you tomorrow night!

But Bruce he wonders if The Manolo will make an appearance?

All the best,

Nov 15, 2005 - 3:59 pm 12. Bruce Wechsler:

The write up was in NRO of course (not the Opinion Journal). My bad.

Nov 15, 2005 - 4:19 pm 13. Axel Rex:

New-name spoiler here. (They got the pajamas reference wrong.)

Nov 15, 2005 - 4:21 pm 14. Asher Abrams:

I am at the W (love that name!) at this moment. It’s 8:30pm. I’ll hang out here in the lounge until they throw me out or I meet up with someone.

Look for a black beret, long hair, glasses, and Powell’s sweater.
