Wow! This is outstanding news!

If the Europeans are openly considering Israeli memebership in NATO, it is a positive sign that they are FINALLY waking up to the existential threat they are facing.

This could be interesting. I will be amazed if it happens…but it could send a message that nothing else will.

Ahmadinejad may finally be learning something my father taught me as a child, and America is rediscovering. Every action has a consequence.

Following the election of Hamas as the Palestinian Authorityís ruling party, Americans have grown more pessimistic that peace will ever be achieved in the Middle East, and increasingly sympathetic toward the Israelis. American opinions of the Palestinians had been improving in recent years, but now are among the worst Gallup has ever measured. Most Americans do not believe the United States should give any financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority ó regardless of its stance toward Israel ó and most say the United States should conduct diplomatic relations with the Palestinians (only) if they recognize Israel as a nation.

Hamas secured a majority of seats in the latest Palestinian parliament, raising worldwide concerns about what the militant organization, considered by many nations to be a terrorist group, might do with governing power. By a 2-1 margin, Americans now say there will never come a time when Israel and the Arab nations will live in peace, according to the annual Gallup Poll on World Affairs, conducted Feb. 6-9. The 65% to 32% split compares with a roughly 50-50 split last year. The current reading on this ìfuture peaceî measure, along with one other reading from August 2001, represents the most pessimistic Americans have been since the question was first asked in 1997.

Are we mentally getting on a war footing?

Israel in NATO would, give Israel an obligation to come to the defense of all the other members. However, under the geographic-limitation terms of the treaty, it would not create an obligation for any other NATO member to come to Israel’s defense. So what would be the point?

Denmark was selected for attack because it is Europeís anti-Islamist pace-setter.

Thatís the thesis here because, during the past five years, the Danes have established the beginnings of a security program which can be enhanced to defeat Islamification. These Danish initiatives have already produced measurable results and gained notice across the Continent, so it has become necessary for Islamists and their allies to warn the Danes and other European nations away from pursuing these.

In this respect, the attacks on Denmark are of a piece with the subway bombing in Spain, car-burning riots in France and the 7/7 bombings in London. All are aimed at intimidation, and at sparking an accomodationist response that eases the way for Islamification.

Pace Steven Ehrbar, I imagine Israel joining would require some rewording of the charter.
Even so, Nato is an empty suit. Aside from symbolism, Israel won’t gain anything by joining, and may even allow Old Europe to slow down the American response, as they did in the Balkans and tried to do in Afghanistan.

Don’t bet the house on this idea happening. The arab street will break a few embassy windows and threaten Europe with an energy embargo and the stalwarts of Europe will cave.

Last week, it was minus 30 and the electricity went out… in my case, for some 5 hours. I realized that THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is keeping the furnace going. Not light. Not water. The Furnace is God.

Well, even with the Euro distaste for those nasty pushy Jews, the recent kerfuffles have made it clear, even to the Euro idiots that… Israel is a civilized, “western” country, and the Islamists are “foreign” and not in a “good way.”

It is interesting that quietly, quietly, the Danes have been putting into place laws and processes that are effectively controlling their Islamist problem. Eat Harvarti Cheese!!!
