The French accuse Iran of making nukes

And the Iranians, of course, deny it. Meanwhile, over dinner here in DC, my buddy Freedom’s Friend showed me his new article on Iran for NRO, which has two scoops in the first paragraph. But I see it’s not up yet, so you’ll have to wait.

The French statement yesterday makes me wonder if, having been forced to face the truth of Iranian perfidy and the failure of their own diplomacy, they are now preparing their people for military action. The French are utter cynics, but, if convinced by the logic of their own brand of realism that a course of action is needed, they are also utterly ruthless. It wouldn’t at all surprise me now to find French officers at Central Command HQ, there to “consult.”

His last big scoop was that “people he trusted” had verified bin Laden was dead.

A couple days before bin Ladens last communique.

Ol’ BL hasn’t been heard from since the Palestinian elections, or the Cartoon Offensive, or this, the current Iranian saber-rattling. I don’t think an audio tape parroting Michael Moore, even if verified by the CIA, means that he is still up and at ‘em. For a leader, be it spiritual or political or organizational or whatever, he sure keeps a low profile. I certainly have no way of knowing if he’s dead or alive, but the last tape isn’t proof of anything one way or the other.

I hate to be so negative but it is too late to stop the Mullah Bomb. Iran will have it in a year or two, if not sooner, and all the tough talk comong out of certain corners of the West is just a smokescreen to cover up their cowardice. Iran lowered their pants, pointed to their backsides, and told the West where to put their lips and nothing has happened. They will not stop until the E.U., America,or some combination of nations sends a short note to Tehran that says “Stop now or we will blow it up, even if it is spread over 20 sites. This won’t happen. Iran will have the bomb. And they will use it in one form or another, suitcase or missle delivery. Get ready, hope it’s not your town, and get ready for another round of “How could this happen, it stemmed from a failure of imagination.” This will be a hard sell because Iran’s government is announcing their gameplan and the West just can’t get a handle on the fact that these nuts are not pantywaisted technocrats who pretend to talk tough but don’t mean it. These thugs mean what they say. Since the fall of the Shah and the kidnapping and humiliation of our embassy staffers Iran has been spitting at the west and we seem to have a large supply of Kleenex to wipe it off of our faces.
