Palestinian Civil War?

Well, close enough:

Hundreds of Palestinian security forces loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas went on a rampage against the Hamas-led government Monday night, riddling the parliament and Cabinet buildings with bullets and setting them on fire in retaliation for an attack by Hamas gunmen.

The security men shot out the windows of the parliament building before storming the two-building Cabinet complex, where they smashed furniture, destroyed computers and scattered documents. No casualties were reported.

The mob then set fire to one of the Cabinet buildings, gutting the building’s fourth floor. When a fire engine approached the scene, one gunman lay on the road in front of it, preventing it from reaching the building.

If you were an Israeli, what would you do? …. Keep building that wall! (duh) UPDATE: According to the AP, Fatah gunmen have kidnapped a Hamas lawmaker. [No scare quotes around lawmaker?-ed. This is a high-toned blog.]

MEANWHILE: The psychopaths continue their idiocy and – according to some reports at least – Tony Blair seems ready to accept Olmert’s plan for unilateral borders. Given current conditions, it’s hard to imagine it will be otherwise.

I blame Sharon for unilaterally withdrawing from Gaza. His action led to current mayhem, he should be bound over to the European International Criminal Court and tried as a war criminal.

Roger:
Fatah should announce a truce, continue to attack, and then they can express outrage when Hamas responds to the attacks by non Fatah groups that Fatah has “no control” over. heh.

A “Hamas lawmaker”? Heh.Now there’s an oxymoron.

Why not rampage? Destroy the old buildings and the UN will pay for new ones w/better air-conditioning.

Of course, the above presumes that the buildings are older to begin with, but it’s kinda hard to tell since the press has not provided us w/any pics of the Palestinian-on-Palestinian violence. Oh well, I suppose that if an angry mob attacked the White House they’d not bother with pics of that, either.

OT

Over at Huffington Post (low tone, held my nose) the liberals are hyperventilating over an unscripted comment from the State Department something to the effect that the Guantanamo suicides seemed like a PR move.

But lo and behold here is a CBS news headline from their (CBS) website – “Poll: Zarqawi Death Has Little Impact. Most Americans Still Say War’s Going Badly; Bush’s Ratings Remain Low.”

Let’s change that around – “Poll: Guantanamo Suicides Has Little Impact Most Americans Still Say War on Terror Worth It; Bush’s WOT Ratings Remain High.”

If the first is accurate I bet my nestegg the second (congured in my gut) is also accurate.

Incidentally, I seem to remember during impeachment reading about Clinton’s “JOB approval” not Clinton’s Ratings. Semantics?

What if Haditha and the detainees is the tail witch is truly waging the dog this time.

The world found out Al zarqawy was dead on Thursday, how long did we bask on that glorious bit of news?

Wamo! The Sunday talk shows. Not a moment to spare.

So if it’s ok for the MSM to politicize the death of terrorist enemy #1, why can’t the state department say; you know the timing of these suicides at Guantanamo sure strikes of a PR move…
VP BIG TIME I say.
