There is no such thing as ìprofessional journalistic objectivity.î The very premise of the MSM is based on a laughable myth. Bloggers are much more philosophically transparent. My fame may be limited to roughly fifteen people—but they all are well aware of my admitted biases. Most MSM journalists are left wing sluts. They raise their wet finger into the air to see which way the wind blows. Why waste time on these fools?

The piece by Nick Lemann prompted me to write someone I know who has served on the Pultizer panel for local newspapers and teaches journalism. I asked for his thoughts re the Lemann piece, citizen journalism and Modern warfare: the second front is the media.

I’m not a big fan of Gingrich but I tend to believe we are witnessing the start of WWIII. If not perhaps the Spanish War prior to WWII. The parties are probing and testing each others mettle with this proxy fight. There are many signs similar to 1938 that many are in a state of denial. The MSM is distracted with its personal battle with President Bush to notice these nuances and educate the readers on the growing darkness and rise of Evil in the world.

Roger, I thought the article was actually pretty good and worth a read… Surely you haven’t become such an anti-snob snob to reject wholesale everything in the MSM. That would be unfortunate. Just like the blogosphere, quality varies from publication to publication, byline to byline, and even piece to piece…

It will be interesting to see how the current blogging phenomenon ultimately impacts both the MSM and the way the population at large gets its information. Right now the hoopla reminds me of the dot com heydey when anything and everything associated with the web was golden… And no, I really don’t think that’s all that 2004.
