Murder in the National Cathedral

Iranian ex-president Mohammed Khatami is coming to the US on a two-week private visit that includes a possible reconciliation meeting with Jimmy Carter and speaking invitations at Harvard and the National Cathedral. Is this trip by the supposed reformer the harbinger of some kind of reconciliation between the US and Iran? Maybe we should ask Richard Armitage – he seems to be on the inside of everything these days. or better yet, why don’t we do a little research and find out where Mr. Khatami has been lately?

Well, turns out he’s been to Kyoto for an ecumenical event called the 2006 World Conference of Religions for Peace (WCRP). Sounds promising, doesn’t it? But wait… what was the great representative of Iranian reform doing at the conference when the Israeli chief rabbi was speaking? That’s a little more troublesome. According to Israel National News…

When the chief rabbi began speaking at the closing ceremony, held on Tuesday, the Iranian delegation, led by former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami, stormed out of the hall. In his remarks, Rabbi Metzger expressed his disappointment that he could not talk with some religious leaders because he was Jewish.

Not to worry, Reb Metzger. Mr. Khatami is a reformer. We all know that. After all, he’s been invited to an ecumenical event at our National Cathedral by Rev. Canon John L. Peterson, director of the National Cathedral’s Center for Global Justice and Reconciliation. Kofi Annan helped arrange it.

I wonder if the good Canon will allow the Rabbi into the NATIONAL cathedral while it is being ‘graced’ by Khatami? And then, there is Harvard… I expect that those of the “Jewish Persuasion” will not be invited to any of the functions attended by the important Iranians??? Jimmy Carter is, of course, the only really “spiritual” entity capable of representing the US of A in these splendid venues???

This has not been a good week for my innards. I keep wanting to vomit. The stink of evil is actually sulfurous. I truly mean that.

I wonder if presdients like Clinton and Bush wish Jimmy would just retire for real? If not for Carter’s peace mission to North Korea Clinton might actually have done something in regards to NK’s nuclear program before they got to the place where they supposedly have a nuke. Who knows? But I have to wonder what if any authority he has to negotiate?

“I keep wanting to vomit.”

Amen. I’m looking at the Fox page big headline: “Officials Eye Sanctions as Iran Deadline Looms”. I’ve seen that headline in various MSM outlets easily a hundred times over the last few years, NO exaggeration. If I didn’t laugh, I would be crying.

And now we have one of the most destructive, Jew hating, anti-women’s rights, backwards nations on earth being feted at the National Cathedral by the Iranian’s own bend over boy, Jimmy Carter. A freaking disgrace.

I grew up liberal Democrat as hell. Now I despise the new liberalism. I never voted Republican in my life until Gore-Bush and I have foresworn ever voting Democrat since my old Party nominated Hanoi “reporting for duty” Kerry as Commander in Chief. (I served stateside during the Vietnam War.)

I know how cyclical politics can be, but I will be just disgusted if the American public votes Democrats back into power.

ì…speaking invitations at Harvard…î

Harvard University admittedly does have an excellent medical school and other hard science departments. However, in regards to its liberal arts programs—it is often nothing less than an intellectual whore house. There is simply no reason to justify an invitation to Mohammed Khatami. The former president of Iran has proven conclusively that he has no interest in honest dialogue. Harvard is therefore allowing him a propaganda victory.

I know that Iím being a bit unfair. Not everyone associated with Harvard University is an Alger Hiss leftist clone. Still, it sure seems that way much of the time.

“The State Department’s action as well as the defense of its action are profoundly demoralizing and frankly disgusting.” This from Power Line in its closing sentence about the dismal actions of our State Department, Universities and Church’s. http://powerlineblog.com/archives/015151.php

We have had similar action in England during the 1930’s when the Political Elite in the Universities and Political Parties swore not to pledge their allegiance to their own country if attacked, swore not to fight for freedom. We are now seeing just where the present day dupes of history are located, the ones who would negoiate your freedoms away to the likes of a religious fascist like Mohammad Khatami. This is where Political Correctness and the preacing of diversity brings us, we allow an enemy of freedom a right that would never be given to anyone in Iran. This man, Khatami is a propagandist of intolerance, a suppressor of freedom and a torturor why give him this podium to lie and disseminate those lies?

Jimmy Carter once more steps to the forefront of the boot licking of tyrants and surprisinly our own State Department right behind. Its well to remember just who it is that kisses the proffered posterior of such a creep as Khatami, these are real enemies of freedom, they are the present day dupes who should know better.

Do we have to go through the process of purging fools and traitors every damn time we face real trouble?

I suspect it has always been so. What idiot let Arminius study in Rome?

What similar idiot let Khatami in?

Aw, Khatamei was probably just trying to avoid being teased by his claque for having been caught spending the better part of an hour at some international conference speaking in Farsi to Israel’s Iranian-born then president Moishe Katzov.

Nice to hear that Jimmy Carter is reconciling with the Ayatollah. But actually the Iranian hostage affair was not just a personal insult to Jimmy Carter.

(Oops, I guess that should be “the Hojatoleslam,” not the Ayatollah.)

Sep 1, 2006 - 2:52 pm 11. ElMondo:

Terrye, Ron… oh, hell, everyone:

Oliver Kamm comes up with a great one line summation of Carter:

“Less an elder statesman than a soft cushion who bears the impress of whoever sits on him…
