Kofi and Ahmadinawhatshisface and Chavez were all in Cuba today and all I could think wass if Bush was half the dictator they say he is Cuba would be a pile of smoldering ruins right now. Oh well.

You’re not alone in those thoughts Terrye. Though the sentiments I’ve heard leaned toward smoldering meeting rooms rather than Cuba in general.

That information will never be exposed, of course. Do UN appointee’s have to make disclosure of financial worth before being considered and accepted as an employee? And more importantly, do they make disclosure after the end of their employment. The answer is, NO.

And really, Kofi, is just an employee is he not? Yes, his collar is of considerably finer silk that mine. But he is a hired man. Why is it that a “Title” endows him with special privileges?

As a nation, (we only continue from the ‘beginning’) we encourage this type of thing. RHIP, ‘Rank has it’s privileges’. That is OK, to a degree, but is eventually goes overboard. Hoisted on our own petard? Yet again.

Yes, it is Friday, and perhaps a too vociferous joining of mind and brandy.

Terrye, check out LGF for photos of the ‘Non-aligned nations leaders having a group well…hug.

If only Kofi’s incompetence could be as concealed as his net worth.

Terrye,

I have been searching for years to try and find any but the smallest reason to value the UN. Thanks for pointing one out.

“…if Bush was half the dictator they say he is Cuba would be a pile of smoldering ruins right now.”

As opposed to the non-smoldering ruins that Fidel’s leaving behind? :)

Just joking… you’re right. The rhetoric about Bush is so patently false that I cannot imagine the spewers of thus actually believing what they’re saying. They don’t have to like the man, but for God’s sake, if they choose to oppose him, they need to use more intelligent rhetoric. You know, stuff that actually reflects reality? Not bulls*** “dictator” and “fascism” charges. That’s rich, and ridiculously ironic coming from certain individuals.

How rich is Kofi? Claudia wants to know. Wouldn’t you?

At one point, sure, I would have. But at this point, I don’t know… it’s not like anything would be done about it. What’d this new “Ethics Office” do? Say “Tut tut, chief”, and let it go? I don’t think they’d even wag their finger. That’s how jaded I am about the UN bureaucracy.
