I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Kofi advised the Mullah’s to ignore the resolution, back in July of this year Iran’s very Alien Minister Mottaki reported, Iran Advised not to Respond to EU Proposals Hastily,
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that different countries and the United Nations Secretary-General have advised Tehran no to respond to the EU proposals hastily.

Mentioning that different countries and the United Nations Secretary-General have advised Tehran to take its time and examine the package tolerantly, he stressed that Iran would state its view points in this regard once it is through with a scrutiny of the package.
wherein the Mullah’s took their damned, sweet-time to analyze what’s been described as a very simple, straightforward proposal. Purposely so.

While I'd have to dig-out my old files, thinking back to 05' or maybe earlier to 04‘, there’ve been other reports - some I believe by now departed inspectors - that ElBaradei along with others of the IAEA staff have been advising the Iranian’s on various nuances and subtleties of the NPT, effectively assisting the Iranian’s to develop their nuclear strategy.

Given the fully integrated corruption which weaves its way through the entire UN, even were the Iranian’s seen to be eager to accept the ‘incentive’ package, having the IAEA monitor Iran’s activities is as effective as allowing the Iranian’s to investigate their own activities.

It absolutely amazes and chill’s me to the bone that we’re still predisposed in attempting to use the UN, much less continue to fund it, or have the slightest bit of faith in the Euro’s.

I think that is actually Greg not George Palast, and the same guy. He's a ubiquitous muckraker for lefty media, a hero on Pacifica radio and among those who see Bushco as the Root of All Evil.

".. some wizard named George Palast, in the employ of the BBC of all places, opines on Fox News that Chavez is a 'great stateman'."

Could that Palast be the same one that made this propaganda video for Chavez?

One splendid effect of this extended messing around with Iran and North Korea is that Egypt will start its own Nuke program (Mubarak as announced this); and then, of course, Japan is going to go nuke anytime soon...

I think that if/when the Good Guys bomb Iran, they should ignore the Nuke setup and take out their entire energy/oil delivery infrastructure. Even talking about that would make Russia and China and the EU/twirps sit up and take notice...

And OF COURSE Kofi told Amadadingdong to ignore the UN 'resolutions.' I have no doubt that the same whispers came from the EU twirps (including Britain) and Russia and China... and the US State Department.

Some paniced, yet at least functionally quick-witted Chomskey lackey answered the phone, heard a Spanish accented voice on the phone say that ol' Hugo wanted to meet the boss, thought, "Keyriste! The Boss needs that like in hole in the head these days", and stammered, "He's dead, g'way!"

Why on earth would anyone need to tell anyone else that a UN Security Council resolution (even one of the nanny-nanny-boo-boo "binding" variety) can safely be ignored?

Will Kofi lose his job for saying (presuming he did) what everyone knows to be true? If someone said the same to you across the ol' dinner table would you do anything but nod in resigned agreement? Granted this is sorta like the local police chief telling the local crime don not to worry about the town council's resolution to crack down on crime in town but, heh, when all is said and done it's just plain ol' truth tellin'. We'd all prefer Kofi and our chief of police maintain the charade but what damage is done if they fail to do so?

Chomsky on Chaves this morning's NYT.

"I have been quite interested in his policies," Mr. Chomsky said. "Personally, I think many of them are quite constructive." Most important, he said, Mr. Chavez seems to have the overwhelming support of the people in his country. "He has gone through six closely supervised elections,"

For someone generally regarded as informed, I'm puzzled as to why Chomsky would fancy this drip drip dictator. http://tinyurl.com/fatje

The only reason why Chaves thought Chomsky was dead is because in Venezuela Chomsky's demise would have been the norm and not an not an exageration at all.
