The only real pertinent questions are:

1) When will we hit bottom. And by we, I mean Western culture. When will we finally reach the bottom of our downward cultural spiral so that we can start to rebuild our culture with the resolute confindence that it is worth saving and promoting above other cultures?

2) When we finally do hit bottom, will we have the collective strength to rebuild our Western culture.

3) Or, Alternatively, have we so weakened the foundations of Western society that they have fully crumbled so that there is no longer any bottom to reach - only a slow, indefinite but inevitably decline into extinction.

Some countries are farther along in their decline - like France. And some countries still have a discernable cultural foundation - like the USA. Its anyone's bet as to whether countries like France have any "bottom" to hit, or whether countries like the USA and Australia will allow their own foundations to crumble like those of Europe apparently have. Its also anyone's bet what form the resulting anger and hostility necessary for cultural survival will take.

Needless to say, it is going to be a very interesting century. I guess history didn't really end last decade, after all.

"I'm not sure we should take offense at aborting Democratic pregnancies. - Ray"

It certainly does keep the future number of liberal moonbats in an ever declining demographic group, doesn't it. I remember reading in other comment threads that it was the equivalent of political suicide. One can only hope.

As to France, If things keep going the way they're currently going, French will join Latin as a dead language. So far, all they've been able to do is to manufacture the best white flags on the face of the planet, and from the looks of things, they're going to need them.

<blockquote>
What does Michel J Fox's political stunt and the French rioters have in common?
</blockquote>

Speaking of Michael Fox, he should be thanking his lucky stars that he was born in a time before medical science has "progressed" to the point where "defective" genes can be identified as precursors to debilatative diseases. "Gee, Mr. and Mrs. Jones, your son has a good chance of developing Parkinson's Disease. Are you absolutely sure that you want to proceed with your pregnancy? Perhaps you should make an appointment to see a Planned Parenthood representative."

<i>"...But what will shake this country's lethargy? Assault's on Starbuck's, Wal-Mart's? I wonder.
Posted by: Luther McLeod"</i>

It will take an assault on the one thing the Democratic party, and liberals in general, hold dearest. The right to abort their pregnancies.

Paul Belien's interview on Pajamas discusses the percentage of the French army that is Muslim. If the average age of recruits is twenty, the percentage of Muslim must be considerably higher than 15%. Other sites have indicated that the percentage of Muslim under the age of twenty is around 50%.

The article by Belien, "The Rape of Europe" indicates that the outcome of the Muslim invasion of Europe is already a done deal. He states that all that is required is twenty years. He recommends that white Europeans should leave now.

If the war goes through four phases, opposition, conflict, loss and acceptance, the phase that Europe is in now may be "acceptance". This would be indicated by the subjugation demonstrated in throwing away those standards that offend the victor (Islam).

If Belien is correct, we should think twice before assuming that Europe is an ally in the war on terror. A previous post worries that the French nuclear arsenal could end up in the wrong hands. It is not just the French arsenal, it is all of Europe.

They are both made possible by generous endowments of Political Correctness.

This quote from the "torched" Gateway Pundit link, which accompanies the AP photo showing the protesters, does not back up the quote. I would have to say that the group photographed, when you look behind the front lines, looks fairly caucasian. Did AP get the most diverse angle they could find, to mitigate the racial overtones? Or was the choice of photo just a fluke coincidence, with no motives to attribute at all. Call me cynical, but I choose the former.
<blockquote>
Several hundred people, largely of North African and African descent, staged the protest ahead of Friday's first anniversary of fiery suburban riots that shook France.

The European secularism that neutered the Catholic Church seems at a loss with respect to Islamic extremism. I would argue that the vacuum left by traditional religion has contributed to their present state of affairs.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the most effective response is to ask people to return to "traditional values" and return the Judeo-Christian religions to serve as the natural check secularism cannot provide. Fight fire w/ fire.
