Riots and euphemisms return to Paris. [Still the "youths," huh?-ed. Makes me remember Frankie Lymon - "No, no, no, no...no, I'm not a juvenile delinquent."]

It’s one thing for rioting to go on in les suburbs arabe; it’s quite another when it impacts le centre ville. If I know the French, at a certain point their response will be vicious/merciless.

It’s nuts. I blogged on it early this AM. Only Reuters (believe it or not) even hinted that there might be some people from North Africa involved. “A Reuters correspondent on the scene said the youths, many black or of apparently immigrant origin, threw plastic bottles, flowerpots and cans at the police, while frustrated rush hour commuters, unable to catch their trains, also milled around.” Which means “figure it out your own self, gringo.”
