Fire in the Hollywood Hills

fire.jpg

I took this photo in front of my house at 2:40PM Pacific on Friday. Helicopters are flying over head – the Hollywood Hills are once again on fire.

[Do you have insurance?-ed. Yes, and a deductible, alas.]

UPDATE: All clear on the Hollywood front…. I guess God doesn’t want to punish Sean Penn (not that it was very close to his house).

Roger, I fear we’re going to have a very bad fire season this year. I believe that we’ve gotten about 2 inches when our norm is about 13 inches.

Funny that the meteorologists were predicting and El Nino this year. If they can’t get that right from year to year how is Gore and his crew of folks able to predict what is going to happen in 50 years.

Looks like a couple of kids playing with fireworks started this fire.

Roger,

I hope your home with all of its good memories remains unscathed.

God not punishing Sean Penn? Perhaps He forgot Penn’s address or simply missed? After all, according to Monty Python, God is British and they don’t seem to be able to stop terrorists in row boats from capturing their sailors.

Roger,

Sean Penn lives in Ross, CA, across from the police station on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. That’s about 400 miles from the fire in your neighborhood.

Stay safe, Roger.

Here’s more on that fire in the Glendale News-Press: Fire blazes on hillside, two turn themselves in. I think my house was under the smoke trail (I’m in Glendale about two miles from the fire), ’cause everything got covered in white ash.

Roger, I was gonna wish you luck, but reading your comments instead of watching the fire seemed counterproductive.

Have they bought enough CO2 offset?
