To all readers of this site. This is also my birthday and the anniversary of JFK’s assassination, not necessarily in that order.
Let’s eat.
(just got my presents … best one – Lakers tickets for Sunday… Yes, they’re pretty good this year… so far)

1. David Thomson:Happy Birthday. I also strongly recommend everyone read James Piereson’s Camelot and the Cultural Revolution: How the Assassination of John F. Kennedy Shattered American Liberalism.
Nov 22, 2007 - 7:35 am 2. dryfuss:The Communist Lee Harvey Oswald was one of the most successful murderers in history. Not only did he accomplish his goal—but the anti-Communists in this country were essentially blamed for Kennedy’s death.
A very ” HAPPY BIRTHDAY ” Enjoy the day, food & all. I was under
Nov 22, 2007 - 8:41 am 3. Lem:the impression once a certain age, no more Birthdays for anyone in Hollywood Land…glad that is not the case. I think the young execs need some age to develope the knowledge it takes to run this town,
“not run it into thd disaster it has”, so yes , You have the right to truly enjoy this day. NO politics just relaxed Fun, TV Sports & Food…
‘Beggar that I am, I am even poorer in thanks; but I thank you’.. from Hamlet.
Happy Birthday Roger.
Nov 22, 2007 - 8:59 am 4. Anthony (Los Angeles):Have a turkey of a birthday, Roger.
(And save me a leg!)
Nov 22, 2007 - 10:12 am 5. Buddy Larsen:Man, that must’ve been a bummer of a birthday back in ‘63–whew–
well, have a great one today!
Nov 22, 2007 - 10:44 am 6. Mark_Belt:I was just leaving Lanier High School in Austin to get a good spot to see President Kennedy–who was scheduled to arrive later from Dallas–when I heard the news about the assassination. It was bad enough without being a birthday. Hope this one’s happier for you Roger.
Nov 22, 2007 - 7:21 pm 7. Lem:On occasions such as this, a malady known as acquired memory deficiency syndrome strikes many American families and is the subtle scourge of many a thanksgivings. I’m glad to report that ours will readily deny suffering from any such thing but will hastily, upon un-sobering reflection, admit to being in the forgive and forget camp.
We traveled yesterday from NJ to GA without any problems what so ever.
George Bush must hate travelers
Nov 22, 2007 - 9:19 pm 8. Lem:If you were to know us, you would think that the red sox victory would be a source plenty for conversation material.
Not my father, informing us that it is his belief that those bugs that (literally) plagued the Yankees in Cleveland were a God send. My father is the kind of fan that has suffered so much that a defeat of the yanks holds more meaning than victory for any one else, including our red sox.
I’m convinced that the red sox victories are a kind of an inconvenience to my father. His memories of defeat at the hands of the yanks are in some strange way more vivid than the recent victories by the sox.
So we do not argue. We find something else we may have missed about how rotten Billy Martin was.
Nov 22, 2007 - 9:53 pm 9. Joe Schmoe:Happy birthday Roger!
