In the last few days we have yet two more examples of the tawdry hypocrisy of modern liberalism popped up on our screens: 1. Ms. Magazine has refused to run a benign Israeli advertisement showing powerful women in their society like Tzipi Livni (although they have been perfectly happy to display the likes of Nancy Pelosi on their cover). 2. The now widely discredited Lancet study of deaths in Iraq has been revealed to have been financed in large degree by George Soros.
What’s interesting to me is how completely predictable both of these revelations are. Phyllis Chesler – who was there at the founding of Ms. – tells us the magazine is now back and shuffling, looking to cover their ass. Again, no surprise. George Soros will undoubtedly make no comment. Billionaires don’t. He didn’t have much to say when he famously shorted the British pound either. Who knows how many people he put out of worki? The word “progressive” has turned into “newspeak.”

1. Buddy Larsen:You’re too nice, Roger — Soros didn’t just short the Pound, he launched a several-phased attack on the Bank of England as well, and in crashing the Pound didn’t just cost jobs but chewed up the life savings of a large chunk of British working class (you know, the little people so “loved” by the “progressives”). That he also preaches high taxation on his adopted USA while keeping his own businesses chartered in offshore tax havens is just more of the — as you shrewdly note — “inevitable” same. And as far as Ms Magazine, too bad for them that in Livni they ignored — or segregated — one of the most interesting and powerful women on the world stage (and shame on me but who is also kinda cute).
Back to the Lancet piece, you’re right it is now widely discredited but we should remember that the discrediting required a major effort on the part of the hive, and that the Soros crowd certainly meant for the report to stand as a historical scientific document, and become a major weapon in their war to turn the middle east over to the psychotics, torturers, madmen, and other assorted sworn enemies of the free world.

Soros did it for Soros, and as far as the victims, well, tough cookies. so, when his Open Society Foundation wants to “help” you — run. and fast.

Seems like a worth wile project for someone.
