RIP, indeed. This is unusual on your blog, but the link does not link. It (bizarrely) opens an email addressed to the URL you intended to link to (variety.com.) Perhaps you can correct this glitch.

He died at 5am of a hemorrhage, site not specified, a week after surgery to remove a “growth” on his neck. This leads me to wonder about the connection, if any, between the surgery and the hemorrhage; carotid artery rupture (medical idiom, “blow-out”) can very infrequently follow a “radical neck dissection” for cancer. Sadly, in that event he was probably found dead in bed, 5am nursing being what it is.
