Laura Bush, Myanmar and Morford

Remember that reactionary twit Morford who writes that sexist drivel for the San Francisco Chronicle — Laura Bush, doormat? I wonder how that supposedly-liberal fuddy-duddy feels today with Laura out front and center on Myanmar? I don’t see him front and center on anything himself except the preservation of old ideas that haven’t altered for decades. The Chronicle itself is in bad need of a heavy dose of Lipitor.

Well said Roger. I saw her today on the news and thought of your earlier post. I was very impressed by her presentation.

What the Chron needs is a brain transplant. It’s sad to think that my favorite city in California has a birdcage liner of a newspaper and is governed by fruitcakes and idiots.

Laura Bush has taken a special interest in the people of Myanmar, this is not the first time she has come to their defense. The fact that the woman does not try to usurp her husband’s role does not mean she is without substance.

She’s a fine woman. They’re a nice couple. Yep I’m too dumb to see through their act. Just can’t do it. Too dumb. Oh i already said that.

What a sad story. Especially sad, since I read the comments section.

I grew up reading Herb Caen. And a step-dad who used to mutter curses about the Hearst chain. His family was Oakland. My family was City. We make adjustments.

The years have been tough on the City. When she was younger, she was the type of woman you treated like a lady. Now that she’s become a lady, she is being treated as prescribed. I just don’t think a gentleman would forget her youth. The writer of the linked story needs some class lessons.

Or a guy, like Herb Caen, to kick his donkey.

It looks like the only thing worse than the Bushes are the people who hate them. (It was one of Churchill’s quotes). Of course, that’s casting a wide net at this point. I guess I’ll have to be one of the sorry 28 percent.

Me too.

I don’t think being unhappy with the way things are going translates into hating the guy.

I saw a report that came out a few weeks ago from the Tarrance Group, and it showed majority support for many of the president’s policies and a strong favorability rating for him personally. People are just pissed off about high gas prices and tired of hearing about the war.

I wonder what they think Saddam would do with oil at $120 a barrel? And if Al Gore had been president he would probably be loving it. High gas prices are like their own carbon tax. Gotta save the planet, doncha know.

Lipitor? No, they need those industrial strength laxatives that people take before getting a colonoscopy.

Oh, to heck with Mark Morford, Roger. Screw the guy. He just tries to fill the charicature held by left wingers of Ann Coulter, but he hasn’t got the intelligence to pull it off. Haters like him are a dime a dozen; he just managed to get a job where everyone can read his preening.
