Don’t miss The Rebellion Within ^[1] about dissension within Al Qaeda ranks by Lawrence Wright. Not everything in The New Yorker is liberal pap.

UPDATE: This report ^[2] on women in Al Qaeda is also worth reading, although, of course, considerably less sophisticated than Wright’s essay.
