Welcome to RogerLSimon on Pajamas Media

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that this blog has migrated here as a PajamasXpress blog, though I am myself somewhat bewildered.  I would like to salute the folks at LivingDot.com for their excellent hosting.  It just got to the point that the CEO of Pajamas Media had to be on the PJM servers.  So here I am.

Very shortly we will be importing some of the usual propaganda (corrupt author quotes, etc.).

Your old blog looked good, Roger, really good. This one does not. At all. Instead of snagging your old server, why doesn’t PM snag your old designer?

Hold the congratulations … all the Pajamas Media blogs have been down all morning. What’s down with that?

Not all change is good. Visually, your old blog was better because it had an appealing look. I’m not a fan of darkened backgrounds because it makes the words harder to read. But, I’ll get over it and go back to liking the content. But, I’ll never get over the “changes” Obama wants to bring us.

As long as the content is not diluted, then all will be sweetness and light.

The construction of the site leaves much to be desired; typeface and colors make for a difficult read. In some things and at some times change is not so good.

Happy days, the maestro has arrived! Bewildered? It must be a bit like Marcel in “À la recherche” waking up in the middle of the night, and not knowing at first even who he is, let alone where he is — what bedroom in which house, or what moment in linear time he’s dropped into. One day you were occupying the mindspace/timespace of your old blog, and suddenly, you find yourself landed here — not entirely terra incognita, but different. Just remember, change is good. I heard that somewhere just the other day…… Anyway, we’re glad you’ve come home from your travels. Many stories to tell….. Besides pajamaland feels more complete somehow now that the Chief Pajamiste has taken up residence.
And I’m glad of the change of design in your new abode here too — much more accessible, a more immediate/comfortable/informal/direct feel. Compact and orderly, but not cramped. (Ye Gods, how I hate the new design of my beloved Washington Times online! Impossible to find anything.) The predominance of the subtle bluey-green in the overall design makes for a sophisticated look, and, after all, green is the color of Mercury, the planet and god of communication. Also, le vert de l’espoir. Ideal choice! I’m also grateful that there seems to be less orange in the design –jarring. Why not deep red in its place? (maybe the same red as the Instapundit header? It would make for a more unified look.) The new PajamasXpress infinite photo loop idea with latest post for each blog is a great and elegant space saving solution. Hats off! Evolution is good.
