Do you remember once Sen. Barack Obama wanted CHANGE? I say “wanted” in past tense, because he has switched his position more and more from left to center. Just look at the former first lady, a symbol of institutional Clintonism standing shoulder to shoulder with Senator Obama. People call it FLIP FLOP. FLIP FLOP has sent JF Kerry to the dump. FLIP FLOP will cast Sen. to the BIN.

I don’t necessarily trust Obama, but you must understand something: I personally predicted that the American people would mostly change their minds about Iraq long before the November elections! Obama has always seemed to me somebody who places his wet finger into the air to see which way the wind is blowing. He rightfully senses that the Daily Kos position is political poison.

The main thing concerning Obama is that he is intellectually shallow. He has never done any serious reading in his entire life. Obama is instinctively left-wing—but for the most part he is simply confused. The dude is not ready for prime time.

i think his switch takes the iraq war off the table for the november elections, the issue that will loom large is drilling for energy in the united states, the first candidate to grab that mantle wins in a landslide. here’s a few bumper stickers thoughts– save america- drill now, insource our energy needs,
stop global warning- drill overseas

I’m less interested in what Obama says than what he’ll do. We should only care about what he says if it helps predict what he’ll do. I don’t know what he’ll do, other than throw people under the bus. So his new rhetoric on Iraq is not encouraging. He is becoming quite Clintonian. But a lot of people liked that at the time. He stands a good chance of getting elected. But he will not really stay the course on anything (except his own political survival).

I agree completely. Richard Nixon had a profound understanding of foreign policy. There is little evidence that Barack “Barry” Obama has given these matters considerable thought. Nixon may have indeed been a bit “tricky,” but he was not an intellectual lightweight.

Tricky Dick didn’t have to deal with miles and miles of video that could be spliced together to make it obvious that he had no core beliefs (not a Nixonian problem btw). Obama still has five months to avoid getting YouTubed with his own words. I feel some “I voted for the war before I voted against it” moments coming.

I am just relieved that Obama is saying something realistic regarding Iraq. Is he hypocritical? Whatever. This is still good news regardless of Obama’s motives.
