McCain Snob Appeal – Take That, Barbra Streisand!

In the wake of the $28,000-a-plate Obama bash for Le Tout Hollywood, this one made me laugh:

Top Clinton fundraiser backing McCain, not Obama
By Associated Press, 35 minutes ago

John McCain’s campaign says the Republican is picking up the support of a top Hillary Clinton fundraiser and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee.

Lynn Forester de Rothschild has said she thinks Democratic nominee Barack Obama is arrogant and has a problem connecting with average Americans.

Rothschild is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York. She was one of Clinton’s top fundraisers, bringing in more than $100,000 for her presidential campaign. She built a multimillion-dollar telecommunications company before marrying international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild.

Rothschild plans to announce her support for McCain on Wednesday in Washington.

But does he get any Chateau Lafite?

Welcome aboard Lynn. I hope you are doing this for more than just spite. Please take some time to get to know us and learn about why we are Republicans. If you maintain an open mind, you may learn new ways of processing information that will amaze you.

Yes, I’m serious.

This is the one where Mickey Kaus wrote they lost him at “de”.

Shiksa marries up, gets title, goes Republican! Blooded Rothschild’s eyes roll at her antics. “Told him he should marry a good Jewish girl from a good family. Now this! I told him, dammit!”

Um, cedarford, I think she was still a Dem while sipping the Lafite according to the article. Her conversion is not a result of her marriage.

What’s that? Oh, you were being facetiouslly ironic? In THAT case you are hilarious! 8^)

Seriously though, on another Blog the question was asked “Did she talk to Hillary about this before the announcement?” and “Is this the first shot in the Hillary 2012 campaign?” Sound like good questions to me.

Cracks in the dam are always nice to see. Hillary cancelled an appearance at a pro-Israel rally against Ahmadinjad today because she learned Palin was going to be there, too. I wonder if she would turn into Lot’s wife if she actually saw Palin.

I dunno. What good can it do? Brand X blog boasts McCain is trailing again…

“She was one of Clinton’s top fundraisers, bringing in more than $100,000 for her presidential campaign…”

$100 grand? Chump change. Aren’t there Chinese hardware salesmen who are supposed to have donated that kind of money to Clinton?

Well, there goes the “elitist” argument against Obama.

Color me cynical–but–yeah–its all about Hillary. If Obama loses she can be set to run for Prez in 2012. But in order to do this Obama MUST lose.

Of course, this does make one wonder if she really believes that the Democratic party line is really what’s best for the country. I mean, after all, if that’s really what she thinks, she should be 100% behind Obama. But no, its not about the country–the Hell with that–its all about Hillary. And the country and everyone else be damned.

What I want to know is why $28,000? Why not $30,000? Why not $28,000.99? What goes into choosing these numbers anyway?

Sep 17, 2008 - 8:25 pm 11. Crusader:

Yet Barack is still leading by 4-5 points in the polls. McCain is too old and decrepit. Palin could only do so much for him. President Hussein it is.

In a revealing slip in an interview with ABC recently, Mr. Obama said, “If we’re going to ask questions about who has been promulgating negative ads that are completely unrelated to the issues at hand, I think I win that contest pretty handily.

SAY WHAT ?
