As this is a full-service blog, covering weighty political matters and (occasionally) the NBA and (even more occasionally) favorite restaurants, we turn to the matter of hoops today and (with apologies to esteemed frequent commenter David Thompson, Houston fan) the big mistake made by Ron Artest in last night’s Lakers-Rockets game. He talked trash to Kobe Bryant. This no man should do, certainly no basketball player. Bryant proceeded to take over the game, scoring 31 points in the second half. If the Lakers could only hire someone to talk trash to Kobe every night, they would have a lock on the championship.

Can point guards Aaron Brooks and Kyle Lowry take it to the next level? There’s roughly seventeen games left in the schedule. We will see. However, at this point in time—I see a repeat of last year’s final series between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. It should be the Celtics in seven games. The Rockets will be eliminated in the second round.
Well, David, you’ve put it in writing. My prediction: Cleveland vs. LA with Lakers in six. But I admit I’m a homer.
