Ron Silver was a decent, hard working American, who challenged each of us to become better informed citizen's. It doesn't matter what political party you favor, only that you participate in a patriotic civil way, this was the example I will remember Ron Silver exemplifying. I believe he was tolerant & thoughtful for all, even those who had different opionions. A strong voice to put Americans first, has truly been lost in the conservative arena. Hopefully we can find another bright light in hollywood who will challenge the current ideology of Socialism adopted by our current President Obama. My best to his family & close friends..we have all lost a GOOD MAN!

I began watching Ron Silver's acting in the 70's, and marvelled at his talent. I looked for things that he was in. I knew it would be worth watching. He could make you laugh your head off one minute, then, suddenly, you would be reaching for the kleenex box! An incredible talent!

Over the past several years, I have noticed his name popping up in the political arena more and more. I applauded his "guts" to do so. I knew it had probably destroyed his amazing acting career. Hollywood has no time for "real" heros!

Ron was a gutzy guy, there is no doubt about that. I believe it takes "guts," nowadays, to stand up for what is truly right. In the Bible it says that in the "end times," (which we are now in) people are going to think bad is good ... and good is bad.

Just reading some of the critical posts that appear sporactically on this site, proves the Bible correct, yet again!

I believe what changed Ron Silver's mind about things is the fact that he, first of all, believed in the G-d of all Creation, and saw things from G-d's perspective. That G-d's Creation, and the people in it, were being destroyed for lack of true knowledge.

He, secondly, was a decent, devoted husband and family man, and realized that "they" were watching him and listening to his views, and that he needed to have his views alligned correctly with the G-d he believed in, and lived his life for. This influence was of the utmost importance to him. To be any other way would be the height of hypocrosy! Ron Silver was no hypocrite!

Then, thirdly, his heart, soul, and spirit is Hebrew (Jewish), and he knew that G-d's chosen people and nation counted on his honesty. Ron saw things for how they really were (are) and became a "Watchman," both on the Walls of Jerusalem, and, bless his heart, the Walls of America! He refused to be SILENT!!!

I personally thank him for his choice to do these things, and to devote his life to honor his G-d, family, and friends this way.

My posting is late. Heading into April now. Perhaps no one will see this. But, I tell you the truth, a very faithful G-d in Heaven will let Ron know one day that he was a good and faithful servant, and G-d will let Ron know the wonderful feelings we had toward him as well!

Praise G-d for Ron Silver!

Shalom Ron!

Am I one of the only ones who sees the real tragedy here? The man was only 62 and died of a cancer that is on the rise at an alarming rate. I lost my husband (also 62) last year to the same type of cancer. He fought it for 1 1/2 years. Not much progress has been made in "curing" it. It's usually too far gone when discovered. My heart goes out to Ron's family. It's a nasty disease that will continue to take baby boomer men until someone decides enough is enough. I guess we'll have to see our bright and shining stars fade until a sufficient number of people die from the disease. A fellow chemo patient told my husband that "we need our own high profile celebrity" to really get some attention focused on this type of cancer. Not to make light of the recent death of a famous bunnyhill skier, but we'll probably see more attention paid to wearing helmets on the slope than cancer caused from ? But I digress...

"One of my own"

You take a thread with 100+ posts, find a few people to take pot shots at and then tar everybody with that brush.

Quit being such a sanctimonious punk. And hypocrite. And sophist.

First you have all this stuff on Ron Silver - an actor who dared to speak his mind:

31. IB Dribbles: . . . He was an extremely dynamic actor and an outspoken individual.

61. Jessica: . . . I am mourning the loss of a great actor who had the morals and courage to stand up

92. Joan Ducey-Munde: . . . I had the great priviledge of being at the 2004 GOP Convention . . . t was the best speech (with the exception of the President) of the convention in my boo

102. Susan Wales: . . . Ron Silver had amazing courage to stand up for his convictions.

104. BMoon . . . How much darker is our nation, and especially Hollywood, without Silver’s voice,

113. Sherry Smith . . . He did not let the current ‘politically correct’ crowd that is so selectively insistent with regard to personal and public rights intimidate him into silence.

125. CHARMAINE . . . He was adamant about his views being heard.

141. SEP: . . . Ron, your politics I loved. You spoke for many of us. You are missed.

145. Tonya: . . . I know of his strength and how he spoke his mind

147. Banafsheh: .. . What a mind, what a talent and what convictions

152. SukieTawdry: . . . Thank you . . . for having the courage of your convictions.

And the coup de gras . . . .

131. Alberto Gonzalez: . . . Mr. Silver you are now enjoying the glory of God with all your family and friends that went before you. I am sure John Wayne, Charlton Heston and Ronald Reagan were waiting for you and you have a lot to talk about what is happening to our country.

And then you get this on the Celutards post:

12. TOhio: . . . I’m glad that someone is writing about these celebrities. We shouldn’t be watching their programs, buying their music, or doing anything that keeps putting money in their pockets. This is our economic free speech.

44. Tex Taylor: . . . While most of us were taking Calculus, Chemistry or Accounting in high school as preparation for future roles, your leftist crowd was playing Pinocchio for their parents and grandparents on the high school stage.

50. juliet: . . . Hey, protest with your money. Don’t look at their shows on TV, go to their movies, buy books about them or any thing else that will contribute to they wealth.

no one will ever care what conservatives think until they're consistent. Being arbitrary is not a principle. Hypocrisy is not a value.

Ron Silver WAS smart. Seemed like a decent guy. A moderately talented actor in my view. No more or less entitled to speak his mind than Sean Penn, an equally worhty human being.

Quit being such sanctimonious punks.
