“Like most other Western countries, and in spite of its nationalistic posturing, France has ingathered large numbers of alien immigrants for decades, mostly from the third world : either citizens of the former colonies in North Africa, Subsaharan Africa, the Levant, the Indian Ocean, the Far East, or citizens of other Middle Eastern or tropical countries, or even « cultural aliens », i. e. French citizens from overseas territories in the West Indies, the Indian Ocean and Oceania, who settled, or were induced to settle, in France proper. In the long run, it has led to a dramatic demographic and societal transformation.”

bizarre, numbers differ from Mr Gurfinkel, his article is offensive and irrelevant

May-be that has somethin to do with the supposed discussions between Sarko and the Pals

uh, there are some that are not happy of Sarkozy pro-Israel policy

umm got to post swallowed

he cancelled the speech he had agreed to deliver at the annual dinner of Crif, the Representative Council of the French Jewish Organizations

Oh, I see that's the trouble, from where comes the article
as fantaisist as possible, I got to get the right infos again

Défendant le droit d'Israël à sa sécurité, M. Sarkozy a également rappelé que "les Palestiniens doivent avoir un Etat" et qu'"un accord d'ici la fin de l'année est parfaitement possible" OK, it hurts, but that's not only Sarkozy's position, everywhere in the world it is advocated, but only a few radicals can't stand it, as far as me they all can get their sunnyside omelette

Glenn;

Speaking for the time before the currect crisis ...

France had a high unemployment rate but the immigrants always managed to find work. That's because the natives wouldn't get their hands dirty.

Americans had a very low unemployment rate. They don't like to do the dirty jobs but will do them if there aren't more pleasant jobs available. Being out of work for a very long time is considered somewhat shameful by most Americans, the opposite of the Euro attitude.

Lots of similarities between France and the US, probably why I like it in France. But like the U.S. France decided that it was unfair to expect Frenchmen to actually work if they didn't want to. So they hired the North Africans, mostly Arabs, to prune the grapes and clean the streets and wash the dishes. We Americans should give thanks every day that we got the Mexicans.

Ho boy, you proofread and you proofread, hacking typo's into gobs of readable prose, and you leave out the main element of your point, namely that it was young Prince Jacques Chirac, long before he was crowned King of (all) France, who began this liaison with Saudi kingpens, back in the late 60's and 70's.

I think it was Melannie Phillips, Claire Berlinski, Bat Yeor, Dore Gold or all the above, who compiled the dossier of what went down, that got us here.
