Hello, Barack… This is the real Iran [video]

Barack Obama and his junior partner Susan Rice think the way to deal with the Iranian regime is to talk with them. These are also the same folks who got their noses way out of joint about the behavior of US troops in Abu Ghraib. Indeed, that behavior wasn’t terrific. Nor was the action of our soldier who tossed a Koran down the toilet in Gitmo. (Oh, wait, Newsweek admitted they made that one up.) Anyway, if the Obama administration is interested in the real behavior of the Islamic Republic of Iran (not sure that they are, but if…) , they could do worse than to watch the video at this link dated today – May 14, 2009. It’s footage of young Iranian being hung in public in the city of Kerman-Shah, province of Kurdistan. {Warning: very graphic] It would be interesting to see how they feel about negotiating after they had viewed it.

Any idea what their crimes were,Roger? It is well known that tens of thousands of homosexuals have been hanged in Iran, yet to my knowledge there has not been one peep of protest from the gay communities of the US or Western Europe. Can you imagine if this had taken place in downtown Tel Aviv?

May 15, 2009 - 7:11 am 2. Margie:

American gays would rather spend time imagining that the “religious right” conspiring and voting against American Idol contestants who “appear to be gay” instead of focusing upon their real enemies.

Sad,isn’t it,Margie…I read where homosexuals in Gaza aren’t hanged, just have their heads shoved into buckets of human excrement till they come within an inch of their lives of drowning.

May 15, 2009 - 9:34 am 4. Scott:

Waterboarding,indeed

May 15, 2009 - 9:35 am 5. Gary Rosen:

Scott, do you have links for those (mass gay executions in Iran and, uh, “shitboarding” in Gaza)? They would come in handy the next time I’m dealing with some moron whining about Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians while giving her enemies a free pass.

They. Don’t. Care.

Isn’t it sickening watching everyone running around taking pictures and videos with cell phones while their fellow men are getting ready to die a violent death. I have no idea what crime these young men committed but since it is Iran it was probably some type of political crime ie: they thought and spoke different from what the religious leaders say they are supposed to think and speak. Thank God we live in America and pray that America stays the land of the free though it appears with “hate crime” laws, freedom to think and speak may soon be curbed here also.

Forgive me,Gary ,but I don’t.Suffice it to say that homosexuals(Jewish and Arab)fare quite a bit a better in Israel than in other parts of the Middle East

May 16, 2009 - 7:11 pm 9. Gary Rosen:

I’m not doubting you for a moment, Scott, with or without links that should be obvious to any sentient being. Unfortunately the latter seem to be in short supply these days.

I don’t see how anyone who supports capital punishment has a right to get all upset about this. But I’d like to know the crime. This had the look of mob justice–hung from street lamps off the backs of pickup trucks. Not even blind folds. At least one had free hands and was praying as his body swung.
