Barack Obama is making Jimmy Carter seem like another Ronald Reagan. He literally believes the United States is the greatest threat to world peace. At the end of the day, we are the aggressors and our enemies are merely responding to our alleged vile actions. Obama is a self-hating American. This is the only reason why he is receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

The reputation of the Nobel Peace Price has been diminishing for some time. This recent award to a manifestly unqualified recipient is a further debasing of what was once a prestigious honor. More than ever, the Peace Prize is being regarded by most as a patently obvious left-wing political accolade and not a true reflection of its original intent. Forget the Nobel peace price and set your sights on a real awards that are totally devoid of favoritism, partisanship, and political bias……the Academy Awards.

I needed a good laugh this AM after hearing them annouce the award at 3:31 am and wondering if they were all throwing a real “B—kball” into the
vote for eventual failure to the whole world. Did anyone hear when he was asked what he would do with the money awarded him or he even mention that in his reply, I hope he shares it with those he mentioned that truly deserve it, as they really need it.

Speaking of Academy Awards, this Award, judging it somewhat seriously for what it actually says, is like awarding the Best Picture Oscar to someone just announcing an idea for the treatment of a screenplay, not yet written. With movies maybe the thing never gets made. But with President Obama, when he actually completes his full term, whether its 4 years or 8, will have written the actual history of his Presidency, for good or ill. Let’s hope it lives up to what the Committee, based on a few weeks in office, thinks it will mean. In short let’s hope its 1816 or 1866 or 1946 right now, and not 1913 or 1938.

That’s how surreal it is for Obama to win the Nobel Peace Prize for…nothing. The mind rebels. I thought Limbaugh was joking this morning when he started talking about it.

By all logic, the Nobel Committee MUST come to its senses at some point, see the magnitude of its folly, and correct it in some manner to avoid becoming a worldwide laughing stock.

Nope; not in this world.

#23 EBurke zeroes in nicely. The odd thing about this “prize” is that it’s apparently awarded on the basis of what the committee *hopes* will happen in the *future* with a particular individual. Unlike any other award of which I’m aware, this one is *not* for any particular accomplishment; they’re bestowing an “award” based on “vision”. It’s like some kind of weird geo-political wish.

Nobel committee chairman Thorbjorn Jagland is on record with the Obama choice: “If you look at the history of the Peace Prize, we have, on many occasions, tried to ENHANCE what many personalities are TRYING to do.” (Emphasis mine.) Sure explains Yassar Arafat.

Yeah, let me make a suggestion, Edmund. DON’T give them any ideas. The Academy is more partisan than the Nobel committee and they are essentially shameless when it comes to promoting their own political agendas.

Look, the Nobel Peace Prize is the only Nobel prize where you don’t actually have to accomplish anything to get it. Did Gore stop global warming? Did the Dalai Lama make peace with China? And let’s not forget Le Duc Tho, who at least refused it, probably since he knew he wasn’t after peace but only trying to get the US out of South Vietnam so the North could take over a little later. Obama didn’t ask for the prize, did he? So enough already.

I think they gave this award to Obama in the hope that it would:

1) Torpedo any possibility of his stepping-up the prosecution of the war in Afghanistan, and:

2) Insure that Obama would not consider giving Israel the green light to strike Iran.

My guess is it will work.

An empty suit that ran for president and won. Now an empty suit that won, a Peace Prize while attempting to disarm the U.S.A. and continue to keep the bosrders open to all comers legal and illegal. The selection committee must not have any real knowledge of what is happening in the U.S. The economy is suffering, our freedoms are being taken away and our life style is going down hill fast. We need some prize winners yes but not the left leaning, socialist type.
