Regretfully, he has backtracked considerably in the last few years. He is now something of a wimp seeking "his place in history." And very soon the the still undefined Barack Obama becomes president of the United States. Is he a self hating American? The jury is still out regarding that question. The Israeli government therefore had to move fast. “In that sense G. W. Bush has shown courage by being the first world leader refusing to have anything to do with Arafat.”

In that sense G. W. Bush has shown courage by being the first world leader refusing to have anything to do with Arafat. The only time Hamas and others of the same ilk can be defeated is when the so-called "world community" recognize that these guys are unredeemable, and should be allowed to lose. In the meantime Israel has to endure the waves of indignation following what they need to do to save themselves.
