That conservative meeting was years before Allis and I wrote “Red Star Over Hollywood.” You came and left before I could find you, and you did not stay till the end of that session. And I never argued that the Hollywood Ten did more damage than the McCarthyites. My actual views were printed at the time in the now defunct “Heterodoxy” . Allis and I, after publication of Red Star-also had an op ed in The Los Angeles Times you must have seen- that accurately spelled out my views. You should read that, as well as “Red Star,” to see what we really argue. Or you might look up David Oshinsky’s accurate review of the book that appeared in the LA Times after it was published. He understood our real argument– you don’t.No wonder you don’t get what our real argument is and you liked the Guttenplan book. You are what we used to call a useful idiot–but since Communism has all but disappeared- you have become simply an idiot. Ron

Ronald Radosh is wrong about my not speaking to him after publication of his Red Star Over Hollywood. His facts, as usual, are wrong. Alarm bells began ringing for me when he took me to a conservative meeting in LA and then triumphantly announced that the Hollywood Ten screenwriters and directors had done infinitely more demage to America than Senator McCarthy and all the various Witchfinders General. But I didn’t stop talking to him until his venom spilled over more personally.

That is B/S ! Marxi and Lenin were excellent writers . Mao was a great Poet as well .
I F Stone wrote favorably about Stalin and Communism when he saw Stalin and his Thugs were Murdering and Imprisoning Million of Russians . Stone should have written in Provada not lying to Americans about The USSR .
One Ideology matters . One suspects your One of Stones Political believers as well to say such crap .
