To those of you who have family, friends, or relatives in the Armed Forces serving in Afghanistan or Iraq. It is imperative that I mention these facts below to you. I welcome you all to do your own research on this or Google it.

For a man to be an ex POW in Vietnam who has endured so much torture and punishment and who promotes “Country First” on his campaign, his history should lead him to do better for his fellow men and women in the Armed Forces but here are the FACTS below ---

1)	For every GI Bill that is proposed to Congress in favor of more spending for the protection of our troops, both in Afghanistan and Iraq, McCain has voted AGAINST it and Obama has voted FOR it.
2)	For every GI Bill that is proposed to Congress in favor of deploying more armor and artillery for our troops, both in Afghanistan and Iraq, McCain has voted AGAINST it and Obama has voted FOR it.
3)	For every GI Bill that is proposed to Congress in favor of giving more compensation and more medical benefits to our injured troops returning from Afghanistan and Iraq, McCain has voted AGAINST it and Obama has voted FOR it.
4)	For every GI Bill that is proposed to Congress in favor of giving more compensation to our veterans of all the past wars, McCain has voted AGAINST it and Obama has voted FOR it.

Please look over these FACTS and do your own research. For a man to promote character, wisdom, and the love for his country; the facts don’t coincide with this man.

This Election 2008 is a colorless election. It is about two human beings that want to lead our country, either in the right direction or in the wrong direction. We have lived the wrong direction for 8 years and have been in the wrong side of history throughout that time. Do we want to live it again?

Turf Monster said,

"The amount of methyl hydrates stored in the ocean is believed to be twice the combined oil (any form), natural gas (non-methyl hydrates), and coal deposits throughout the world.

We could easily send our supplies that are in the Gulf of Mexico over to Europe and Asia with enough left over for the US and then some. Not only would this free the Europeans from their dependency upon Russia for natural gas (as well as giving Russia the shaft at the same time), it would help our balance of payments."

I say: If we drill it here, sell it here. Europe HATES the United States, so I say to hell with them. Let them live under the shadow of the bear.

A win-win situation for everyone except Putin and his kind, which is the goal here.

Thank you VDH for another excellent and perceptive piece.

In regard to Russia -- "Russia's energy stranglehold on Europe may turn out to be a more worrisome threat than were all those Soviet divisions pointed at the Fulda Gap". This is one of the primary reasons that Russia invaded Georgia; the oil and gas pipeline in Georgia. The new Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline that runs through Georgia and carries Caspian Sea oil and gas, is the only pipeline that does not go through Russia. Russia wants Europe to be completely dependent on them for their energy, so they can use it as a club.

Meanwhile, President Bush is offering aid to Georgia, planning beefed up Eastern Europe defenses, Poland has agreed to installing a missile defense system, and no doubt many other plans are being put in place behind the scenes. Despite the Russian's strong hand, America holds a few cards of their own: we can suspend the NATO-Russian Council which was established in 2002; G8 can become G7 again, Russia strongly wants to join the WTO,
which can be put on the back burner; The Winter Olympics which are scheduled to be held in Russia in 2014 could be moved to another country.

Before and during The Obama Flying Circus to the ME and Europe, The One was flying high (like Icarus?). Upon his return to the US, the Liberals were shocked that there was no bounce in the polls for him. Along with the Edwards scandal, the mayor of Detroit scandal, and the increasing number of voters who are questioning BHO's fitness to be president, plus HRC demanding a roll call vote at the DNC convention -- times are tough.
And the unthinkable is happening; Obama and McCain are running virtually neck-and-neck.

Obama's campaign has mainly been about bashing Bush, constantly displaying his own arrogance and hubris, racial innuendo, and deliberately vague references that give little indication of how he would govern if elected. In a speech she made last year, HRC cracked: "I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002".

To add to their woes, two new books have just been released: "Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality" by Jerome Corsi, and "The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of The Media's Favorite Candidate" by David Freddoso. Obama Nation shot up to #1 on the NYT Best Seller List, reportedly selling almost half a million copies in the first week. The NYT attacked it, and BHO issued a 40 page paper about the book.

The Obamabots on the blogs are rabid, absolutely raving mad, with calls to "kill, maim, kneecap" the author and the "Right Wingers" for 'maligning' BHO. As Sandra M noted above, it is terrifying to think about what these crazies may do, let alone the damage that Obama would do to the country if elected. The Dems are so frantic for him to be President that they will do anything to try to make sure it happens. Witness the new law that the Democrats passed in Ohio, as reported by the AP: it permits voters to register on Election Day and vote via absentee ballot - no ID required. Wonder how many dead people, cartoon characters, dogs, etc. will get to vote this time?

IBD, on its Editorial/Political Cartoon section, has just completed an eight part serial
piece on "Obama: The Audacity of Socialism". If you go to the site, be sure and look at two of the recent cartoons by the Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist, Michael Ramirez: "The most Effective Weapon in the Russian Arsenal", and especially "The Obama White House". To me, it is the greatest cartoon that I have ever seen. One segment: (Georgia's been attacked? Send diplomats to Atlanta." LOL

Sorry about the spelling guys!!
OK Guys lets talk briefly of Ralph Peters columns and what the Russians are doing.
They appear to be slobs. Look at the pictures of a lot of those BMP drivers. Shirts unbuttoned and helmets askew. Compare that to the pictures of our guys who are NOT getting good press. Shirts buttoned and neat appearance, even in 120 degree heat. The Russians are a lousy military and Vlad, in his little KGB heart, KNOWS it. Give me Shermans "Army of the West" ANY time. LOL!
The boy is jealous of the work we have done in Iraq and the information reaching me here, in the heartland, from some old associates is this, as we approached Bagdhad, the word in the Russian bunkers just outside Moscow was, "Holy S***. Their stuff WORKS!" LOL! Vlad knows it and he does not like it. Ralph Peters had an excellent column on how to deafeat the Russians. We ship in some Wide Area Anti Tank Mines and some Javelins, make the Russkis bleed and they won't like it. "A little revolution now and again is good for the soul." ESPECIALLY if you think your sweet "leaders" are sending you to h*** with no hope of ever making it back to the real wolrd. I know that feeling, trust me.

So what do we do. Ship the equipment, let the Georgians do the fighting. (I didnt see the guy whining so much as getting ready to show the Russkis what for) So let him prove it. If they make the Russkis bleed a little and drive them out, admit them to NATO. If not, who cares what they do?

As for Barakster? LOL! If he wins, he will set the cause of "Black Americans" back 100 years. When black racisim is gone, then racisim WILL be defeated. Until then, good luck!!

Why is it that so many of my liberal friends -- all of them extremely skeptical of politicans -- are swooning and salivating over Obama? Vote for him if you must but spare me all the redemptive hysteria.
