Getting What You Asked For

“I wanna talk!” said the President of the United States to the President of Iran. “Yeah, I’m just not that into you,” replied that President of Iran.

And so our President looked weak, ineffectual and unimportant.

“I wanna talk!” said the President of the United States to the President of the Russian Federation. “Yeah, I’m just not that into you,” replied the Russian President.

And so our President looked weak, ineffectual and unimportant.

This is what happens when you offer to talk to thugs without preconditions. You give them the right of first refusal, and there are few things a thug enjoys more than kicking sand in the face of a weakling.

Well, guess what? They don’t like us any better, they don’t respect us more, and our reputation is not improved. We have in fact lost respect and our reputation is diminished and who gives a load if they like us better or not? We’re the weakling, and the bullies run the playground.

Wasnt there once a rather famous Chicago philanthropist, philosopher and saloon keeper who said “You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can from just a kind word”.

An Italian fellow, somewhat portly. Cant remember his name…

And the chain of dissing continues. Because Barack Obama just isn’t that into Gordon Brown.

[...] Stephen Green (who I learned at CPAC is, despite the Vodkapundit moniker, an ecumenical drinker who will gladly coif a Sam Adams or a Bombay Safire martini with a twist — especially if someone else is paying) has an amusing commentary on Obama’s foreign policy to date: “I wanna talk!” said the President of the United States to the President of Iran. “Yeah, I’m just not that into you,” replied that President of Iran. Isn’t this exactly what the grownups expected would happen with this sort of approach? People, especially liberals, just can’t get the idea many cultures perceive this as weakness and must respond with strength. Middle eastern cultures especially only respond to power and strength.

Expect our prestige to decline rapidly around the world.

They told us our troubles internationally were because of that crude cowboy George W. Bush. They promised us if Obama were elected president the world would show America the respect it deserved, because of their great respect for the new president.

They couldn’t possibly have been wrong!!!

Could they…?

Mr. Obama has surrounded himself with the rejects from some of our largest financial institutions. They have all ran their failed businesses SO WELL, he thought they deserved a chance to show us how they did it.
